Oh dear thurlesblouse, your 'analysis' is somewhat flawed in that Tipp have played 5 matches compared to KK's 3. That's a poor effort, even by your standards.

And Eoin Kelly is a fine hurler, an absolute legend, but why call him Prince Eoin? We all know that a King is more powerful than a Prince. ;-)
Puddersthecat , 31/08/2010 at 12:11

prince normally is heir to the throne which he will take over from Henry shortly

do you think Henry Shefflin would score the 2-15 gap in the extra 2 games Tongo ?? I doubt it I wonder how far ahead of him Eoin will be after next Sunday?? Even though he has a serious back injury that also needs surgery but there is no big fuss about it unlike in some other counties!

Hmmm.

Looking at the counties 2 most prominent posters we have:

Tipp - Thurlesblues, brash, confident, boastful, historical, pointing to Tipp's record in finals V Kilkenny & saying the better team lost last year.

Kilkenny - Puddersthecat, quietly confident it seems.

Based on these 2 characters posts, who would people rather see win?

Personally based on this I'd love to see Kilkenny win to see thurlesblues reaction, but based on the overall game, completely neutral, hoping for a great game.

Thurles, how come you only list Eoin and not the rest of the Tipp players?
The pleasing thing for Kilkenny is that there are goals and scorers right across the forwards. And then we could bring a few lads off the bench to shake things about.

Im just making a comparison between Henry and Eoin in the scoring department and as you can see Eoin is miles ahead of him talk is done on the pitch not by the media puddersthecat!!

Cant wait for the match now. The big question is will Cody risk starting both Henry Shefflin and John Tennyson? Kilkenny backs are stronger this year and have only concided a very soft goal to Galway towards the 6 goals they let in at this stage last year. Whereas the Tipp defence are very shaky conciding 3 goals against Cork, 1 against Offaly, 3 against Galway and 1 against Waterford but their forwards have more than made up for it with 3 goals against Wexford, Galway and Waterford.

I would question Tipps have back line with 2 full backs playing on the wing, yes they would be well able to catch the puck outs but its not their usual position and will Declan Fanning be able to keep up with the likes of TJ Reid and Eoin Larkin. Of course If the King starts it will be a mighty battle between him and Conor O'Mahony.

Midfield will be interesting, with Shane McGrath back to where he is at his best and Brendan Maher have a fantastic year. Kilkenny have so many options with Michael Fennelly who will definitely start along with Cha, Michael Rice and Derek Lyng. If I was Brian Cody I would choose Rice as I dont think Cha is back to his best and the two Michaels can both defend and make crucial runs through the Tipp defence and are worth a few points at least but with the pace of McGrath Cha might be suited better there.

The Tipp full forward line of Noel McGrath, Eoin Kelly and Lar Corbett is the best in the country, Jackie Tyrell would be the biggest worry for Kilkenny fans with the roasting he got in the second half against Cork from Pat Horgan. Will he be on McGrath? I would expect Noel Hickey to keep Eoin Kelly quiet and Dalton to do very well against Lar. If this line gets any goal chances they will have to take them as we learned last year.

I think the Tipp puckouts will be crucial. What tactic will Sheedy apply to keep Tommy Walsh out of the game as much as possible? Will he do what Galway done and pull the half forward out towrads midfield. With Brian Hogan gone will Tennyson start? Kilkenny have so many options here, bring on James Ryall or Paddy Hogan or push Tyrell to the centre and put Micheal Kavanagh in the corner. Will Cummins drop his puckouts out around midfield.

Finally the Kilkenny full forward line. A lto of pressure will be on Richie Power to step up to the mark with Shefflins injury. I still aint sure about Micheal Cahill but Eddie Brennan has been very much off form this year and he will need to put in a big performance. Taggy done well against Cork and I would expect him to chip in with a few points.

Only 5 days to go!!!

that should read 2-21 not 1021 for Shefflin typo!

Unfortunately i do not have the ability to foresee what King Henry would score in two extra games, so no-one can really say whether he would or wouldn't score 2-15. As you don't have that ability either, it is pointless comparing the two.

Henry has only played over 2 games after being took off against Cork.

Shefflin plays centre forward, Eoin full forward so its not an equal comparision. Eoin Kelly wont get much off of Hickey.

Yep, you keep getting it wrong thurlesblouse. Stop putting a load of drivel on here and maybe you might get it close to correct!
Even after the Final on Sunday, Shefflin will have only played 4 games (if he is fit) and Kelly will have played 6, so it still will be a pointless comparison. Obviously its difficult for you to understand this basic logic.

on September 5th
it will be Tipp 10 Kilkenny 5
out of the 15 all ireland finals between the two teams
that will be 67% to Tipp and 33% to Kilkenny. That puts everything into perspective now doesnt it??

Is there any truth in the rumour that Tipp are putting on 5 players from the subs bench on Sunday as Tommy Dunne wants the u21 players for the following Saturday I believe that the 5 from the bench plus the other ten should be just about enough to beat Kilkenny Sunday. It will save Tipp having to go and pick a few lads from the local crossroads like old times!!
