We were the best team in 2009 too Slayer now dont you forget that!
How can I when you keep telling us 25 times a day? :-)
Despite me being totally neutral, part of me wonders what would it be like if Kilkenny had a handy win on Sunday, would we ever see you again? You do know if Kilkenny win that so many people here are going to come looking for you, there will be no place to hide..................

760138 thurlesblues - where do you think ye can win this game? Is there a particular line on the field that ye reckon ye can dominate? slayer , 30/08/2010 at 13:37
I think Kilkenny midfield is weak and also they are weak down the middle
I'm struggling with this one. fennelly is a candidate for hurler of the year adn Lyng, Rice or most likely Cha make a formidable pairing. Down the middle .. Hickey back...looks like Tennyson will play....Henry....and Richie Power. Doesn't look too weak to me.

McGrath and Maher will win the midfield battle ye have no centre back Hickey is not as good as he used to be

Thurlesblue you have over 1000 posts all saying the same thing. Other posters might like to comment on the final but you put them off this thread by ur narrow mindedness and complete ignorance and lack of respect to the finest hurling team off the last decade...........WIN SOMETHINNG FIRST THEN SHOUT YOUR MOUTH OFF

All Tipp have to do is play a bit better than they did last year as Tipp were not at their best on the day
Did you not say a few weeks ago tipp played them off the field last year... and also said kilkenny played above themselves to say with tipp yet also outlined kilkenny got none of the ball in the 2nd half. Now you go on to say tipp were not at their best last year.... jayuss lad be a bit consistant anyways your all over the shop.
Seen as your lover of history here's another one for ya the first "A tale this one of an "evergreen" in mid tipp has to do with a famous match in kilcooley, the first recorded in history between Kilkenny and tipperary; the latter represented by Moycarkey and Twomileborris. The Noreside county fell in a scene of jubilation never since forgotten, and ere the day closed there was a fight on Fennor Hill" Tipperary's GAA History (Canon Philp Fogarty)
In your reasoning that match would have a direct impact on next sunday game too seen as we always beat kilkenny even if the match was played in the early 1700's I think.

I think Kilkenny midfield is weak and also they are weak down the middle I think you mean't to say they are weakened down the middle if shefflin and hogan don't start. I still think Hogan if he dosen't play could be a bigger loss than shefflin.
Now I know your talking crap midfield has been kilkenny strongest line all year and Fenelly is in contention for hurler of the year also kilkenny have stronger subs for midfield.
The Tipp midfield I think has also been tipps strongest line since Mcgrath was moved back there during the waterford match likewise brendan maher is also in contention for hurler of the year.... on the negative side tipp have less expireanced options on the bench if god forbid Shane Mcgrath or maher gets injured... We have sheamus Hennessy and also the option of moving out noel Mcgrath (u21 Midfield pairing) but as yet not expireance in midfield at senior level yet and we need noel Mcgrath in the forwards.
This is the battle I'm looking forward to the most and I think whoever wins.
I hope to see buggy O'meara getting a bit of time on the field I don't think he was ready to start the cork game but I think he'll do damage if brought on at some stage he's flying in club and u21 this year.... Might be a bit of an unknown quantity for kilkenny!!

Kilkennys sneaky mind games might backfire. How many players have made lazurus like recoveres now? Cody must be nervous if he's resorting to such tactics.

Ony a few days to go now to the biggest day in the hurling calendar. Mind games and injuries aside it should be a cracker and will probably be only a puck of a ball in it at the end. Would love to see KK achieve the dream of 5 in a row. Hope its as good as last years game.

Galway object to U21 final venue 31 August 2010
Galway have expressed strong opposition to playing Saturday week's Bord Gais Energy All-Ireland U21HC final against Tipperary in Thurles.
Galway officials wrote to Croke Park after winning their semi-final clash against Dublin calling for the final to be played at a neutral venue such as Portlaoise, Tullamore or the Gaelic Grounds. However, the GAA have insisted that the game will go ahead as planned at Semple Stadium on Saturday, September 11 with a 7pm throw-in under floodlights.
"This was done with a view to playing future finals in Semple Stadium. It just so happens that Tipperary happen to be in this year's final," GAA spokesman Alan Milton said.
boohoo! get on with it Galway. Wel play ye in Pearse stadium if ye like it will be the same hammering yel get either way!!

Goals win games and tahts what will decide Sunday.
Noel Hickey back and JJ out to half back strengthens KK this year. Tipp would have won last year if they had taken those early goal chances in the 2nd half. If KK get a few early goals, game over, the swagger and confidence will win out. Whilst the midefield battle will be great, Hag, I think it is teh battle of both full forward /back lines that will have a bigger say in where Liam ends up.
I'm slightly apprehensiv about Tennyson and Henry starting as we won't know how match fit they are. Would be better to see them coming off teh bench. Could you imagine the lift the King coming on would bring.
KK have played better this year than last but I don't believe they are back to the 2008 early league 2009 levels.
Whoever wins on Sunday, I can see these two contesting a fair few all irelands for years to come. Last year was the best all ireland I've been at since my first in 1975. I'm not sure my heart could take another!

Thurles, how come you only list Eoin and not the rest of the Tipp players? The pleasing thing for Kilkenny is that there are goals and scorers right across the forwards. And then we could bring a few lads off the bench to shake things about.
And Eoin Kelly is a fine hurler, an absolute legend, but why call him Prince Eoin? We all know that a King is more powerful than a Prince. ;-)
