Tipperary are the only hurling county to win an All Ireland in every decade since the GAA began.
Now can any of the other hurling counties say that.
Also Declan Ryan of Tipperary won an All Ireland medal in 3 decades!!

Yes thurlasblues winning 4 all irelands in 40 years makes Tipp the greatest, are you forgetting Kilkenny have done that in the last 4 years and have won more all irelands in the last 10 than Tipp have in the last 50.

Also last time I looked, Tipp were 3rd on the role of honor, 7 all irelands behind Kilkenny the REAL GREATEST HURLING TEAM OF ALL TIME.

for me, taking into account the provences they came out off (no back door for the majority of the GAA's history) cork are still irelands no. 1 hurling county, follwed by tipp and then kilkenny.

yes faithful cos we were so far ahead in the 60s in all ireland titles we went to sleep yhen Kilkenny caught up on us they were 7 behind us then but we wont be long closing that gap and you know they only beat us in one of them and that was last year by fluke and we are awake again my friend!!

read my post again faithful I said Tipp are the only team to win an all ireland in every decade no other team has achieved that and we won 4 or 5 in the 60s alone more than what yev won since Cusack was in Hayes hotel in 1884!! And we won the first one too!

I agree mikeoc in the 60s Cork Kilkenny and Tipp were strong and yet for all that , the 4 out of 5 all irelands that Tipp won between 61 and 65 nobody came within 14 points of them including kIlkenny whereas in this era Kilkenny have been strong while Tipp were rebuilding after 2001 and Watreford and Limerick had nothing and Cork were in decline after 2004 and 2005 Tipp are back again now though!

I would go so far as to say that the Thurles Sarsfields team of the 50s and 60s who won 10 out of 11 county finals and they won the football in the year they missed the eleven in a row with rattler byrnes Jimmy Doyle Tommy Doyle Mick Murphy and Tony Wall and sean mcloughlin to mention just a few would beat this current Kilkenny outfit!!

I think you'll find this thread is not about what offaly have won, we're not trying to take claim to something we're not, and we've been every bit if not more successful than Tipp in the last 30 years. Do you think I care about 1889 or whatever you are trying to brag about.

this thread is the greatest hurling county of all time. not the last 30/40 years. i dont think some people can quiet grasp that. so anyones stats of tipps under-achievment in the past few decades are rendered irrelevant. now you have to consider the provence tipp have had to come out off, throughout their history when there was no back door. kilkenny were in a mickey mouse provence and were pretty much into the semi ever year. so imo, for tipp to be only 7 all-irelands behind kk's, all factors considered, is quite impressive. tipps 25 stand ahead of kk's 32 in value

Lohans red helmet I would not expect anything else from a Clare man with their measly 3 all ireland titles which they won when Cork Kilkenny and Tipp were in transition and anyone on this site will never see them win another one. Biddy Early is back our u21s finished ye off for another 20 years at least
