Following a detailed review of issues arising from the Leinster Football Final and in response to increasing concerns regarding spectator safety, specifically in relation to the departure of patrons from Croke Park, the Ard Chomhairle of the GAA today endorsed a recommendation from An Coiste Bainistí to increase the height of the front barrier at the Nally/Dineen Terrace (to 2.8m).

A ten foot high fence along the hill is not going to solve the problem as the supporters who attacked the referee came from the seated areas.

blocking people from going on to the pitch will cause more trouble..
there will be potential disasters due to crowd crushes..
why cant the stewards just open all the gates and let people through..
people have been invading the pitches since the beginning

Ridiculous move.
Making the situation more dangerous in an attempt to make it safer.

i agree with pidge.
everyone will just push up against it with less chance than before of someone getting out and someone is going to get crushed
