Thanks Mes Amis, you saved me the bother of having to point that out, its not referred to Asia Minor for nothing. Brace yourself Mes Amis, i can see the 'R' word being bounded around at the moment!

739945 Haha Dell's comment actually made me laugh, there's no comeback to such stupidity. As for the question, I think a united Ireland is on the cards but thankfully never in our lifetime. The ROI is a complete and utter shambles, every single aspect of the UK is better.

you're right, there is no comeback to such stupidity

dhorse - I wasn't having a go at Dells comment, rather pomeroy's ludicrous suggestion/generalisation that 'The ROI is a complete and utter shambles, every single aspect of the UK is better.'

739857 That is, a considerable amount of territory including its capital in Europe

Turkey's capital is not in Europe (Ankara is the capital not Istanbul) and only 3% of its territory is in Europe geographically speaking.'

Not like Omagh to get something so totally and utterly wrong

First off - that figure is an estimation based on a worse case scenario, so its facile to even talk about it.

Of course ROI is not in the best state its ever been in, but to state that its worse than every part of the uk in every way is a wholly ridiculous, and easily disprovable piece of rubbish

Facts speak for themselves. I hope the few years of indulgences and reckless spending were worth the misery that is currently the norm down there and will be for the foreseeable future. Thank God I'm not a part of it is all I'll say

BooBoo I have already explained why I only asked for a yes or no answer,to avoid the unavoidable I suppose given where the thread is at.We are even discussing the Merits of Turkey being in the Eu now ffs!!!

This a mute point. I have proved time and time again about the welfare state that is N. Ireland. For the great unwashed i will direct them to a thread where i showed the the budget deficit of N. Ireland is over 2.5 times that of Greece!!!

abhainn I'm well aware the North is dependant on Westminster. That's why I don't want to leave. What ROI wouldn't give to be subsidised by Westminster now eh

Patrique, the vote was taken under duress so it hardly counts as being truly democratic.Whats your own opinion on a united Ireland, yes or no? I think its ok at this point to waffle on endlessly about why you do or do not support the idea, everybody else has.

Paddy it is indeed a 'mute' point. People who bleat about a United Ireland strangely don't seem to have morals when it comes to picking up their British money from the dole office or getting their pay cheque from Her Majesty's Civil Service. The UK doesn't want us but we don't want to leave. Long may we suckle from the UK's financial teat
