Another repetitive subject. I would love to see it but the simple fact is the number of lives that would be lost to achieve it would not be worth it. Anything that will cause mindless violence in this day and age should be forgotten about. Ireland will never be united. jonny1951 (Mayo) - Posts: 1431 - 20/09/2010 09:00:53 778523 Link 0 |

As i said we are and have always been united. It is only the political process that is disjointed and the reality is it is much closer now than at any time in the history of a divided nation. It is inevitable that Ireland will be United politically. I suspect that some separation of culture will remain but it will also merge eventually to incorporate both traditions. And contrary to the last poster it will be the absence of deaths that will accelerate this unavoidable change. Everyday we grow closer and perhaps it will happen much faster than any of us expect. derryman (Derry) - Posts: 3246 - 20/09/2010 10:33:15 778609 Link 0 |

The absence of deaths? Can you explain? If discussions ever take place regarding a united Ireland, the ceasefire will be no more. jonny1951 (Mayo) - Posts: 1431 - 20/09/2010 11:34:07 778698 Link 0 |

I would feel that the problems of ireland will not be solved by disassociation but by Inclusion that is why genuine efforts should be made by us not demanded of them derryman (Derry) - Posts: 3246 - 21/09/2010 20:39:48 780756 Link 0 |
