Who will win Sam now?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Well Sammaguire09,

Kerry only got 15 points against them after extra time in the drawn game and only 1-15 after extra time in the replay. That was the full Kerry foward line against a Cork backline missing 2 regulars. I would personally rate the Kerry forward line as better than Kildare's.

I wouldn't say the forwards are Kildare's biggest strength. I would be thinkin more your midfield. Unfortunately, I am thinking Cork may dominate you there too if you make the final. If this team could find a top class forward (or 2) they would be unstoppable. As it is, they will do enough to win

When the championship is over we all look back and wonder how on earth Kildare got to the semi-finals even though that's all the far they will get.
Question we must be asking what has happened tio the standard of football to have all losers reach this stage through the backdoor?

Ja,
I hate when people use stats from other games to make a point. Ok Cork kept Kerry to 15 points or whatever but if Cork play Kildare the game wont be played the same way. And I would rate the Kildare forward line as highly as Kerry's. What does Bryan Sheehan give you from play? Darran O'Sullivan blows hot and cold. Donaghy hasn't done a whole lot this year. Doncha Walsh, the same. Just compare each forward from the quarter final.

Cavan gael you may ask how Kildare got to the semi final. If you give me your fax number I can fax you the teams they've beaten to get this far. Kildare have been in the quarter final the last three years too so its not totally unexpected that they be thereabouts this year. And seriously Fermanagh man where do you get off slagging other counties for being losers?

That Down team are a serious outfit. Very strong in all sectors of the field. I reckon both semis are too close to call.

you would want to grow up cavan gael! That statement just made you look like......hmmm lets just say a "silly" person so i dont get banned! Where do you get off or who do you think you are?? slaging a Kildare team that have put their heart, soul and bodies on the line for their county! Its just pure disrespect to kildare and the other teams who have made it this far. It all comes down to jealously! Well done to the Dublin, Down and cork teams in reaching the semi finals and most importantly congratulations and well done to Kildare! They played fantasic football throughout their 7 games in a row! thats right cavan gael 7 championship games in a row! and have made the people of kildare extremely proud!! GO ON THE LILYWHITES!!

Kildare are a very good team and i fancied them to do well this year. They are big, strong and mobile. They are also a scoring team and credit for the great level of fitness they have should go to McGeeney who knows the importance of high levels of fitness. Kieran was to be seen running around the golf course at City West Hotel at 6.00 a.m. the Monday morning after Armagh won Sam in 2002. The price of 4/1 about them seems very attractive !!

All 4 obviously in with a shout but the Down and Dublin teams are at an earlier stage of development. Cork and Kildare are the more experienced and should make the final. I expect Cork to win.

I feel that Kildare posters are taking over this thread which is meant to concentrate on all four semi-finalists. Ok Kildare has somehow managed to be one of the last four but in reality the two teams likely to be in the final are the favourites Cork and Dublin.
It will be a close call!

I will predict right here and now that only one of those two will be in the final. Where do I claim my prize?

I think Cork and Down will win their semi-finals. Since I got them all wrong last time, that probably means it'll be Dublin v Kildare

West Rules, spit it out. Whats your issue with Kildare? Because it obvious you have one.

And anyone that knows anything about GAA knows that Cork cannot meet Dublin in the final.

sedico you know well what I meant and that is that either Dublin or Cork would reach the final for the reasons stated. As for your query about Kildare I think the 'the penny has dropped' for you yet!!!
