We'll need to wait and see the outcome of next weeks semi final before making any definite assumptions. Cork were poor in defence while Dublin were masters in the forwardline. On the day, no one dispute the fact that the Dubs had the greater input to the game and deserved a replay. I think Down would now give Cork a bigger roasting than Kildare who don't have the stamina of the northern lads. Next Monday we will all be in a better position to make predictions when we see the performance of the remaining semi finalists.

Translation: Kildare are not as adept at pulling, dragging and fouling and getting men behind the ball. More of the same drivel.

Well I think they are two of the most stupid comments iv ever read. In my opinion kildare are the fittest team left in the competition so that means whoever made the comment about kildare are to wrong - kidare are on par if not better conditioned than "Northern teams".
Then A kerry person makes a comment about ulsters teams pulling, dragging etc. It is true but down (the only ulster team that matters at the moment) are about the only team that dont do it and beat kerry player better football. I am really looking forward to the other semi final and then the final. they will both be tight games I reckon. People should stop bitching and enjoy the football.

Jafallon, are you going to lay some of that Cork money in the final on the opposition to ensure a tidy profit or let it ride?
Let it ride definitely. If I wasn't heavily involved already I would seriously consider wading into Cork just over the 1/2 currently on offer on Betfair. As it is, i'll let this play out but i'm very confident. Cork are fast becoming my biggest benefactors, had my biggest ever bet on them vs Tyrone last year at 13/8.

........?????????
What northern Lads? You mean Down is it? Surely not any of the other 8 northern teams because obviously just like Kerry they weren't good enough, hard enough, fit enough or strong enough to make it this far.
From what I've seen so far, kildare are by far and away the fittest and one of the strongest team in Ireland and I do think that the will beat Down on this front. The only other team in the country that you would liken to Kildare for fitness, strength etc., is Cork.
Now I would be delighetd with whichever Semifinalist from the 4 ended up winning Sam. And any of Dublin V Kildare, Kildare V Cork, Cork V Down or Down V Dublin would to me have been a fantastic final to look forward to. A wonderful end to the year with all the 'upsets' and fresh faces.
But don't give me this Northern Lads v kildare or Northern Lads V Cork. They are the 2 teams you should not be trying this on with. Afterall, Cork and Kildare gave the northern Champions a right good go of it last year. Cork have only lost once to northern opponents since Down last beat them 16 years ago. Believe it or not, it was your own Fermanagh who did the business back in '04.

A few questions...
1. Where does Dublin go from here? Is there a possibly to squeeze a Sam out of the current team into the future? 2. Have people lost faith in Cork ability to lift the Sam 2010 after their mediocre performance on Sunday? 3. Will Down see themselves as the potential All Ireland title holders now? 4. Has Kildare's hopes been dented based on their sister county getting the boot?

1. Sure they can get a sam in the next few years. Its a young panel and it they progress half as much over the next year they will take some beating. Tactics need to be sorted, correct tackling instilled and teach that o gara lad to score- he does everything else well 2. I have said all along that cork are beatable. However they are still in the final and even playing badly they could take it. their physicality and experience is the best out of remaining teams. 3. Down always think highly of themselves. As the commentator said about the kerry game - Down acted like it was their right to win. Im sure they feel in great position to win sam this year. 4. I dont get this one. Why would that effect them?

Who will win Sam now? A few questions...
1. Where does Dublin go from here? Is there a possibly to squeeze a Sam out of the current team into the future? WHAT, YOU MEAN THE ALMOST BRAND NEW ONE THAT CAME WITHIN A POINT OF THE AI FAVOURITES.YES 2. Have people lost faith in Cork ability to lift the Sam 2010 after their mediocre performance on Sunday? DOESNT MATTER, CORK PLAYERS WONT 3. Will Down see themselves as the potential All Ireland title holders now? NO. BUT OBVIOUSLY YOU DO or HOPE 4. Has Kildare's hopes been dented based on their sister county getting the boot? I HEARD THEY WERENT EVEN GOING TO SHOW UP NEXT SUNDAY.... RIDICULOUS QUESTION Cavan_gael , 24/08/2010 at 09:59

The winners of Kildare V Down...without shadow of a doubt....when ye win a semi in such a fluke fashion as Cork did, it comes back to haunt you in the final. Its been well proven over the years......

Re: Dublin robbed of replay
Tired reading the Dubs scraping at crumbs to justify their failure to comprehensively beat Cork when they were well ahead. I have no sympathy for the Dubs nor have I any great faith that Cork will finish as All Ireland champions. As far as I'm concerned Down can do it as Kildare do not rank as finalists in most peoples thinking at present.

I hope Down or Kildare win the A I I don't much care for Cork the way they behaved over the last few years striking and not playing for a Manager was a disgrace if there is any justice it would be a long while before they win SAM or Liam
