Bands on Hurls

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

We call it a bat in Derry ;)
All joking aside ive started to get hurls without the band cos basically you are adding about 16 different places for a stick to crack by adding nails/ staples to it.
I band them when i fix them tho.
Ive started to oil them with linseed oil to see if itl keep them a bit more moist and stop them cracking...

Never use a band on a hurl, and in the past when I did get a hurl with a band on it I always took it off after a while!

Always use Doyle Hurleys from Forth Mountain in Wexford by the way!....Nice shape and weight, as a defender I like a heavier hurl for power on the clearances!!
