719338 Omaghredhand, Im just giving my opinion. There is no need to go attacking Galway because of it. If you want to talk about Galway, do it on a Galway related thread. I would only be happy to discuss the relevant history, success and football traditional concerning the 2 counties, but i'm afraid you may embaress yourself and your county in the process. I hate this culture on here that when somebody expresses an opinion they get a remark back about their own county. The lads from the weaker county can't express an opinion at all. They should remove the county bit from under usernames

Ja, the reason I brought Galway into it is because I felt that you were being lazy in your assessment of Tyrone's style of play and for someone who normally posts quite sensibly it appeared on reading to be a abysmal attempt at having a dig at Tyrone. If this was not your intention then I apologise. As regards Galway, I like them always have done, mostly because of the hurling mind you. Cooney was my hero as a young boy along with Ryan, Rabbite etc. Thus my respomse was tempered somewhat by what I perceived was the intent of your post. As regards the last part of your post, maybe not a bad idea, but in relation to yourself, surely your not suggesting that Galway are a weaker county in either code?

look tyrone dont play attractive football to watch, more akin to watching rugby league than gaelic football but thats the way they play and it has worked well for them. get over it.

If Antrim could play any style other than "totally inadequate" I suspect you would be a happier man.

Antrim, under Baker, try to copy Tyrone.

So at Newbridge V Kildare, with a gale force at our backs, we have SEVEN defenders.

What's that about?

Don't watch them anymore. Same way as I stopped watching that England team in 2003 and I was their top supporter since 1972.

Who were you talking about here?

Joseff

I know you may struggle with long-winded explanations so I will make this one easy for you with regards to Donegal.

Michael Murphy is a fantastic player but when the other players aren't up to scratch, guess what the opposition will do? Thats right, they will put 2 or 3 men on him. So your theory of 'not giving him the ball' is all well and good but sadly, like most things, in reality it is not so simple.

don't agree with joseff . i am a neutral and i always love to watch tyrone. they play good intelligent football and have loads of skillful players. it wasn't their fault that the ulster final was lousy. blame that on Monaghan (and on the tv production company who ruined it ... :).

Joseff does sort of have a point to be fair. The Connacht final was one of the best games in recent years, when you have two distinctly average but well matched teams they will often serve up a treat. Yes there were mistakes galore, yes it was equivalent to a junior club game in Tyrone but it was hugely enjoyable nonetheless

In reference to Patrique's original post, there are many flaws.

1 - England failed to win another title. Tyrone followed up their 2003 win, with wins in 2005 & 2008.

A bit disingenupous.

The next Rugby worlld cup was FOUR years later in 2007 and Kerry won it. I mean South Africa won it.

Did Tyrone win in 2007? Oops, I've already answered that.

You cannot be serious man.

Apart from the obvious clues, did you really think ANTRIM (NINE IN A ROW) were going to copy Tyrone at HURLING?

Tee hee.

Patrique, Football didn't start in 2003 with Tyrone but you seem to be drawing comparisons and analysing everything Tyrone...

Lads/lasses,

someone mentioned Michael Murphy of Donegal on here. Throw in Gooch.

Now neither of these would get on the Tyrone team at Corner forward ahead of say Penrose. They are both far and away more exceptional individual players than Penrose, so why would they not get on?

Because Penrose, as a corner forward, does a great job in helping out the slowest full back line in Ireland.

You wouldn't see Gooch back helping out the full back line, or Murphy.

So this emphasises the Tyrone belief in the collective, taken to extremes with NOTHING in 2010 being left to chance or individual brilliance.

Just like that England team.

u are simply losing i am sorry , to say tyrone has the slowest backline in ireland , even by your standards .. thats laughable .
tyrone play as a unit , they can move men forward , they can move men back , they play complete football , defend when needed , win possession attack as one ,they move brilliant , with scores coming all over the park , if that is not fitness in a team , i do not know what is , as for connor gormley would u say he was slow , or cathal mc carron who played a blinder .. u just do not like tyrone , for whatever reasons only god knows .

p.s good luck to antrim by the way in their forthcoming hurling match.

Worrying about the "Ten in a row" in Ulster, or where that 175th title is coming from, or the fact that we have only brought 3 all Ireland titles to the county this year and it is July?

Naw, that doesn't cause us pain, just a bit of anxiety.

If Tyrone continue to progress in 100 years you will be just like we are now.

god some people have a real problem with succesful teams.im no fan of a lot of tyrone players, well maybe sean cavanagh ,or a lot of the fans but you have to give it to them they are some team.blanket defence to blanket attack and i love the stlye of football they play, they are the ajax of gaa.they have got the best out of their golden generation and when it comes to an end (which it will,it happens every team) people will only realise how good they actually were.

Why talk about football if all you want to do is compare it with Antrim Hurling. The three all Irelands this year are St Galls (club) not county and who else? excuse my ignorance. If you were talking about footballers and not going to watch them anymore, is this since the Kildare game in Newbridge?

The only reason I feel that you lot play hurling is to give you something to shout about in Ulster, surprising when it is not all about the winning eh?
