One things's for sure, Galway's midfielders won't be getting a mention in this thread anyway! (at least not apart from this post). aidangalway (Galway) - Posts: 648 - 07/07/2010 13:13:27 699258 Link 0 |

I can't believe people have put Ross McConnell in here! I know one post was messing but another seemed serious. Maybe the poster in question is Pat Gilroy? MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13797 - 07/07/2010 15:31:50 699495 Link 0 |

fergal doherty from derry has to be in there along with marty mcgrath from fermanagh. guys the best midfielder in past 3 years has to be enda mcginley from tyrone he has been so good tyrone could afford to put sean cavanagh at full forward. against thehead (None) - Posts: 36 - 07/07/2010 16:52:09 699608 Link 0 |

No doubt about it but Dermot Earley Jnr is up their with the greats. Going since '97 and two all stars despite suffering numerous injuries and a serious illness. The man is an absulute legend. The rest mentioned are also fantastic footballers but how anyone can even mention Ross McConnell in the same sentence as some is these boys beggars belief. sedico (Kildare) - Posts: 1682 - 07/07/2010 17:28:49 699660 Link 0 |

John Galvin-one good game?? Are you for real? This man has been one of the best midfielders for the last decade; completly underrated. He should have got an All-Star years ago, never mind this year. Just watching him is pure class. kerrykerry (Kerry) - Posts: 1779 - 07/07/2010 20:14:32 699824 Link 0 |

without a doubt it is dermot earley...still one of the fittest footballers in the country and undoubtedly the best midfielder in the game..he has it all.great fielder of the ball, big, strong, scores too and can run all day and he in his 30's...you could see kildare are a totally inferior team when he is not playing than when he is. he was the main reason for their good run last year...how people can say the likes of ross mcconnell are better than him i'll never understand. depointswilcome (Westmeath) - Posts: 125 - 07/07/2010 21:00:51 699863 Link 0 |
