Munster Hurling Final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

The grand majority of these players have locked horns in the championship so many times over the last ten years or so, and there still is nothing to choose between them. It is definitely one of the great rivalries of modern times, and it is easy to see what drove Tony Brown that extra inch. Yesterday mightn't have been the greatest game of their encounters but the stakes are vamping up for the replay. Maybe the intensity between these two counties in championship battle will be instilled into the next generation. Hopefully. Utmost respect to the players, especially the veterans, on both teams, and I expect the replay to be an absolute cracker.

I think the GAA need to something about u21 hurling championship why cant it be played off earl like the football? Tipp have 9 of their senior team playing Cork thie Wednesday evening and then have to play Offaly in a senior qualifier on Sunday. 2 games in 4 days its not fair on the players and its nonsensical fixture planning by the GAA.

Slayer I just want to say that being from Tipp I admire the current Limerick squad thay have put on the jersey with pride whether they are good enough or not is not the issue they guys who were past it just wanted to blame someone else rather than themselves and who else but Justin. Limerick have had 4 or 5 managers in the last 7 years all the managers cant be right. I think its time to forget those players and give the new honest guys a chance even yhough they ship a heavy beating so be it they will learn from it. I dont agree what Cork players did to a hurling legend like Gerald McCarthy a man with 5 or 6 All Ireland medals and his words will come home to roost too theres no All Ireland in this present Cork team!

I do agree thurlesblue but with the added games due to qualifers this can't be helped.... either play the u21 before or after the championship but then you'll run into trouble with club games and college teams.... if their posponed you just have a bigger fixture pile up at the end of the season. Tipp didn't have such a problem with fixtures last year as the u21 were knocked out early and we didn't take the qualifer route... other teams did have fixture troubles.

Did you read my post - I kept it short for your benefit. Which part of technically correct do you not understand ?
As regards the rest of your post I am not debating this with yet another poster who does not think that all Irish Gaa people are entitled to like or support the sport. As regards respective success I doubt if Tipp have won Liam in your lifetime and I was at the 2001 final before you react on that point.

Actually Omar Ive seen Tipp win 4 all irelands out of their total of 25 shure wev more all irelands in even footbal than ye do ,you were right to go to the 2001 hurling final because you will never see Cavan play in an all ireland let alone win one. What a shame!

Well done - I have you placed as being younger. You are correct it will be a while before Cavan win one. In reality it may be a while before any county north of the midlands do- its been good of you to point that out. Anyway getting back to my original post I said you were correct but that its called a "hurl in Kilkenny" Do you disagree ?
