Munster Hurling Final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

You are right booboo Cork are an average team and wont be there in September but we will. We dont have many all irelands in that team but all that is going to change shortly as we will win a few of them now still think Kenny and McGrath best midfield pairing around!

booboo Im not making excuses about the Cork game Im just stating the fact that they were flat because they trained for two hours in Nemo Rangers pitch on Saturday . Munster is not the priority for Tipp we won the last two of them

christ wen we were winning all ireands reguarly munster medal was still v important and should be not to mention its the easiest route to final and avoid kk . tipp alway want to beat cork and vice versa if sheedy wanted to go the senic route i cant understand his reasoning !! explain

Think about it Booboo Kilkenny dont have to peak till late August as they have no opposition in Leinster they are fresh and no injuries going into semi. Tipp and Cork have to peak early in Munster every year. We dont want to avoid kk we love playing them but we want to peak at the right time this year in August not in July.
The scenic route gets us to that stage this year.

Sorry but I think Cork are the only side who will stop Kilkenny this year as Cork's possession game might just deny them the ball.

fair point we see how it goes stiil id rather go direct route myself either way i cant say this without sounding bitter but as john mc intyre said fair play to kk but im sick to death of seeing kk win and im not ashamed to say it slate me if ye want but even tho others may not say it would be nice to see any other team win

Great fare this week end in so far as hurling is concerned, so i am going to stick the neck out and make a few predictions.
Limweric V Offaly I have great respect for the Limerick Lads who have kept the faith in their County and i think they have a big chance against Offaly who played real well against Galway But every game is different and Galway have been dissapointing So i am Going 51/49 in favour of Limerick.
Dublin V Clare I have seen both and a case can be made for each, but my vote goes to Dublin, I think they are much better than what i have seen from them recently, Clare certainely much improved but i feel will have to wait another year at least before they are serious contenders So 55/45 in favour of Dublin.
Waterford V Cork Tough one, we have had some great tussles in the past and in truth its a 50/50. Cork will be warm Favourites and Waterford have serious injury problems Definitely out are Kearney probally one of the best corner backs in ireland, and young Tomas Ryan a rising star in the forward division.
Still i think if Brick, Kelly and Mullane raise their game Waterford will retain their great recent record against Cork so i am going for the out sider to shade it 50.1/ 49.9 When Waterford won the Munster Final of O2 They beat a star studded Tipp team who were unbackable favourites and the World cup final was also on that famous sunday.
I also think Waterford will retain their Munster Minor Crown, Aldough the game is coming only four days after a thrilling victory over a very good Cork team, i think that this Waterford Squad are a seriously good team.

bennybunny:

Give aiske the right ball and he'll do damage... would i be right in saying gardnier played the ball into aiske for 2 for corks goals?? gardnier is probably the best striker of a long ball/pass in the game at the moment which he had the freedom to do against tipp seen as john o'brien constantly insisted on giving him about 10 yards free space.... aiske is not a man to come out and attack a ball or move further away from the square to win a ball but if you play it down on top of his head out of 10 high balls aiske will win ye at least 6 or 7 on a bad day.... I'm not writing him off I'd love if we had a player like him on the tipp team.

Id say it wont be too long until Eoin Kelly passes out Shefflins all time scoring record as hes 2 years younger than Henry ant not far behind him in top scorer of all time at the moment so hes guaranteed to pass him out soon unless injury hits him.

I honestly believe that Cork will win this one by 6 or 7 points. Waterford don't have the same quality and hunger this year.

Think Cork will win but its going to be very tight. Waterford are a top side and we always have great battles with them. I do think though that our boys need to go through the front door. I think their gunning for Kilkenny. I suppose so are Tipp but they dont have the same bottle as Cork.

rebeltrev just to let you know that Tipp had no interest in that game in Cork ye havent a hope of reaching the final ye havent the legs for it ye peaked for the Tipp game big mistake especially when we trained in Nemo pitch saturday for 2 hours that shows you how little we cared, but I suppose ye hadnt beaten Tipp for 4 years ye needed a win!
