Are we being unfair to Paul Galvin?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

We all know he is a superb player but after seeing the Sunday Game after recent incident with Eoin Cadogan, I lost any sympathy for him (even if I thought there were other incidents in that game equally unsightly which got no subsequent attention) and thought the ban was justified. However, there is an interesting Youtube clip showing incident from another angle which i must say shows the whole incident in a very different light. Check it out - search under "Paul Galvin - What the Sunday game didnt want you to see" (maybe somebody more gifted in the way of internet could put a link up). Its obviously a biased piece put up by a Kerry supporter but it certainly raises some very valid questions. things arent always as black and white as they seem.....

mikiesourah....love for kerry as usual, hows the kerryman at the helm treating ye these days? Era, everyone goes to town on him for what he does, got what he deserved but people love to hate him.

Galvin seems to be targeted by the gaa!..not a year goes by where theres not some scandal involving paul. I feel it is unfair to highlight each and every action of a amatuer sportsman, and give him a bad reputation. The sunday game and newspapers are giving him a thug reputation. Being a follower of my local club i have seen hot headed players just like galvin and off the pitch they are absolute gents. GIVE THE GUY A BREAK before he gets tired of this carry on! He is a class act!

I haven't seen the clip as youtube is blocked in work. I'll watch it later.

However, judging him on everything before that match:

No, he gets what he deserves. There is a reason why this doesn't happen to Declan O'Sullivan.

Because he behaves the way he does, he deserves the flak he gets.

Kerry people now trying to blacken the name of Cadogen to excuse the despicable and repeated thuggish behavior by one of their own.

First Anthony Tohill,
Then the sunday game,
Now Cadogen

What are they going to blame next for Galvins troubled history?
Global warming?

He's deserved what he's gotten in fariness.

But the problem is that there are a lot of others who get away with the same stuff because it isn't highlighted.

in all fairness...
if soneone was sticking their fingers into your mouth wouldn't you try and bite them???!!!!

galvin brings all this on himself....
there is nearly always a bit of controversy around him....

as some-one said already some of the club players are hot-headed on the pitch but gentlemen off the pitch...
this could be the same with paul galvin.. i dont know... but this is about what happens/happened on the pitch.

paul galvin is one of the best footballers in the country aswell so there would be more made of it when he does get in trouble...

cadogan attempted to bite galvin, is this acceptable? where is the outrage over this? why is cadogan not being bannned?

because there is one rule for some players and another rule for others, the media just wanted a story and a scapegoat for the 'violence in GAA' stories they have been sensationalising for months and the spineless GAA yet agin broke and gave them galvin... the GAA authorities are pathetic

Have watched it. Don't think we need to analyse it as if it's the Kennedy assassination. Galvin has his arm around Cadogen's back so I don't think he's trying to bite him and even if he was Galvin had the option to duck or step back, something can Cadogen couldn't do. And it's not like he tried to explain this to the ref, he ran off straight away because he knew what he did. He clearly has one finger in his mouth and another that went across his eye, you can dress that up anyway you want but it's unacceptable.

more or less self defence

yes i have 2 agree, if galvin is involved in an incident it will be more highlighted than an incident involving another kerry player or any other inter county footballer for that matter, but he has put himself into the limelight by carrying out theses disgraceful acts of thuggery such as knocking the notebook out of the referees hand last year and getting involved off the ball, so this focusing on galvin thing was started by him and he can have nobody else to blame but himself
