I'd have though either Standhill or Easky in Sligo. Or else Lahinch in Clare. black&white (Sligo) - Posts: 1628 - 23/06/2010 11:14:42 684608 Link 0 |

Enniscrone and Easkey are in Sligo but they are only about a ten minute drive from ballina. Enniscrone is supposed to be pretty good and they have surf schools there in the summer. Lacken in north mayo (bout 20 minutes drive from ballina) is also supposed to be pretty good. xxx (Mayo) - Posts: 1275 - 23/06/2010 11:39:10 684651 Link 0 |

I've been surfing on Carrownisky outside Louisbourg before. It can be pretty spectacular out there. roundball (Tipperary) - Posts: 2514 - 23/06/2010 12:50:08 684779 Link 0 |
No black and white ballina is in mayo. I said it is only a ten minute drive to Enniscrone, less. My point was that he could stay in Ballina and travel to Enniscrone. Some beaches are so far from nearest town you would nearly have to travel that distance anyways. Did ye not cover local towns in remedial level geography? xxx (Mayo) - Posts: 1275 - 23/06/2010 14:09:20 684932 Link 0 |
Mikeynora - have you ever been to mayo? - how ye all down in limerick there anyway? - still hurling are ye.... yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11682 - 23/06/2010 14:38:17 684987 Link 0 |
Easkey and Bundoran are okay but the man wanted an area where it would be good for novices. Achill Island have medium sized waves all year long, However you can find bigger waves on the island if you wan them. Below is a link to a good website. It gives the best times to go out surfing. paddyogall (Mayo) - Posts: 5110 - 23/06/2010 15:46:18 685088 Link 0 |

The Surfing SHOP in Louisburgh run courses at all those beaches on this unspoilt peninsular. I can't even remember all of the names but Keel is certainly one of them. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 23/06/2010 19:05:28 685294 Link 0 |
