I think Joseff is correct and Croke Park ( Should never be called Croker) is a poor stadium with poor facilities and poor seating arrangements.I never like going to Croker as i weigh 18 stone and the seats are not very comfortable.I never like travelling to Croke Park as I will usually be stuck in the back seat of the car with two children who are very immature.

One of them isn't Joseff by any chance?

2face drives and ilovejam always calls shotgun first, leaving myself and joseff in the back.

The drole fools won't go to the Westmeath game so I've to look for alternative travel arrangements.

682699 Joseff: On another point, i don't appreciate people calling it "croker"
This is highly disrespectfull to Archbishop Croke.

You obviously know little or nothing about the good Archbishop... "Croker" was his nickname in the seminary, so disrespectful it isn't...

I'll have you know i spent many years studying sports sociology at University and I know more about Archbishop Croke than anyone else.
Still i find it disrespectfull, who wants a nickname put on their stadium.

In relation to LouthGaels query, never say never

Nice to see the views of a few other posters there aswell such as the MEADE mab above. The problem with MEADE is they (like the dubs) also think they own Croke Park.
Yours In Sport,
Joseff

As members of the GAA don't we all 'own' Crok(ER)?

Are you forgetting about Fatman? Fatman usually sits in the front as he is a big man and I drive now and then but the car will not go very fast as we do have a lot of weight in it.

I presume those lads are just going to wait until the final? A bit blase, for Louth wouldn't you think? The last time Louth were in a Leinster final who were they playing? Was it King's County or Queene's County?

Remember that time we drove with Fatman and that guy from Kilkenny (can't recall his name) in the back? The car was wincing because of the weight!

The last time Mayo were in an All Ireland I think they failed to perform on the day but that was a once off as Mayo always perform in Croke Park.Mayo remind me of a bridesmaid who will never be the bride.Allways the Bridesmaid but never the bride. How are all around Ballindine.

They're mighty fine round Ballindine, 2faced! Good bridesmaid analogy... though it lacks originality to the point of being groaningly tedious! Still, if we're a frustrated bridesmaid (which to be fair, we are!), I wonder what that would make Louth? When was the last time anyone even asked her out for a dance? Still I don't wish ye except the best in the semi... whichever yourselves or W/meath win that one will be fairly serious underdogs in the final, and all of Mayo (me anyway!) will be behind ye...

"How on earth is the Hill unsafe? Truely puzzled by this one. It cant become overcrowded as only a certain amount of people are allowed in as only a certain amount of tickets are printed. It's not like old systems where you pay at the gate and people just kept flooding in. As has been proved in the German Bundisliga Safe standing works, and it is indeed very safe, cheaper and generates a better atmosphere. "

very true. the Westfalenstadion is argueably the best stadium in the world. the two standing terraces are monsters

Anyone who critises Croke Park is way off the mark.

It is one of the best stadiums in the world and most importantly to qoute Joe Brolly "it is the field of dreams and its ours, it belongs to every community in Ireland". Why the hell are we comparing Croke to these other stadiums - its not only to do with capacity or how it looks, even though thats important! Croke Park has more history than most - its a national monument, and I believe that no other stadium in the world is beloved by so many or raises the emotions so much!

I asked her out for a dance Saturday night and she accepted and I believe this is the year when she will become the bride.

Joseff the thing is people usually attend Croke Park out of choice. If you do not like it, do not attend. Judging by the content of this thread most people find it very acceptable and fit for purpose, special even. I think the issues you have raised have all been addressed better than I could by previous posters such as Richieq.

I do realise you are simply trying to provoke a reaction hence your comments about Casement etc. If that's how you get your kicks out of life my friend well then you knock yourself out. I barely bother visiting this site anymore as 'intellectuals' like you ruin most threads but thats just the nature of the game I guess.
