Down V Tyrone - Predictions

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Blu I cant understand for the life of me why you find this one hard to call. Tyrone have better players in every department , including the full forward line. They should really hammer an ordinary Down outfit. However this is Championship football and shocks do of course occur from time to time. In reality , if Tyrone play very badly and Down play brilliantly , then you might be able to keep defeat to the minimum score. Anyway , good luck lad , I'll be rootin for ye.

Jfallon is it not just a little embarrassing continually referring to Galway's glorious defeat to Kerry in 2008 as a great game. Truth be told Kerry scored at will on the day . The result was never in doubt.

Tyrone still have enough quality players in their team to make life very difficult on Sunday. They were a great team and potentially are still a great team. However, James McCartan, Paddy Tally, Brian McIver & Jerome Johnstone are a shrewder, more tactically aware management team than Down have had in a long time. It's time for a change in Ulster. Down to win by 2 on Sunday, with the winning goal coming from someone other than Benny Coulter but he will still roast whatever defender Tyrone put on him.

well when the supposedly best man marker in ireland got compeltely anialated by him in first round i doubt they would mark him out of the game. They could keep him quiet thought. For me this game could be won at midfield. Both teams play a nice brand of football I just hope tyrone dont be at any dirty tricks. Should be good one. I reckon tyrone by 1 or 2 aslong as they keep benny away from the goals. 1 or 2 goals would be massive

Down were flying this year until the League final against Armagh. If they had continued their excellent league form with a win in that game I would have fancied them to have a real go at Tyrone. But that will probably have worked out in their favour with a dampening of expectations of the Mourne men arount the country. I predict Down to run Tyrone close before Tyrone pull away in the last ten minutes and win by five ponts.

Following my excursion to the Cavan Fermanagh match I would love to Casement Park for Tyrone v Down.
5 questions
1)Is it all ticket?
2)Where is the best place to park?
3)What is the quickest way from Dublin?
4)How long should it take?
5) If no to Q1 Do they take euros at the gate?

Lol best teams in ulster is a joke. How anyone has monaghan below donegal must really not watch any football. Donegal would just about be better than cavan or fermanagh and even thats up for grabs. Im not saying they have no chance of beating armagh im just saying on previous performances this year they were brutal. monaghan played very good against a decent enough armagh team. Id have them beside both down and tyrone with tyrone just beating monaghan and down.
