Disrespect by Tipp and Cork supporters.

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

In the City End, there was girl in her late teens, quite drunk , randomly shouting " UP TIPP " during the minute silence.
I think I heard another guy or 3 at the other end of the terrace shouting some rubbish too. The other 10000 or so of us kept the silence.
To counter the young drunk lady, a Cork gentleman near us responded by shouting back " Shut Up You B***h, he's one of your own , but I would expect nothing
more from these *******. ". With us, still there !
My point is, Ignorance is ignorance, be in respecting the living or dead, and that will always happen. But, the other 39990 fans ( or so ) were respectful.

Sounded bloody disgraceful watching it on the TV. There should be more of an effort made by security to locate and remove these animals from the our fine stadiums!! And in response to the Girl being drunk bit- To be fair alot of supporters manage to enjoy a few pints before a game without behaving like a Tramp. So, I wouldnt be so fast as to give her the "drunk" excuse. Drunk or Sober that behaviour shouldnt go on.

When people start shouting at these idiots to 'shut up' it just makes the whole thing sound worse

ya it was fairly bad it could be well heard on tv but as it has been said a lot on this topic your going to have a couple of idiots at every match and from every county.

Bad alright not been quiet for a minute silence and in a way it is worse than booing a free taker . Even though the booing of a free taker like the week before was a disgrace.

Wrong there was not one booing once from tyrone fans against antrim fans so your facts are wrong or you try to hide the shame your fans did ?

Just from watching the start of the game on the RTE iplayer it sounds like more then one or two. In fact i'd say even Meath supporters wouldnt be at that kind of stuff.

There is a minutes silence now before practically every games played, it is done way to often and the meaning of it is lost because it is just procedure now, it is a matter of who will the minute silence be for and not will there be one.

Oh Dear!...lets all play down how disgraceful this was because it wasn't Dublin fans!!!!

I remember the uproar when this happened at the HILL 16 end before, until the opposition supporters came on here and clearly backed up the fact that the singing heard was coming from Dublin fans below Hill 16 who didnt know about the minutes silence that was happening above them!!

So for the record, let me state, in true retaliation fashion, yesterdays cork and tipp fans were a disgrace!!!

Regards,

Snufalufagus....Laochra Gael

just watched it there again and it did sound really bad. There were quite a few people at it too but to be fair it did seem to be all cork people shouting and we know how much they like the sound of their own voice

I have spent the last 20 minutes carefully listening to those that ruined the minutes silence in order to detect whether they were from Cork or Tipp. I have come to the conclusion that it was Nordies. The accent is most certainly Northern.

With me being a Brit it would make me extremely well qualified to recognise a Northern accent.

Its interesting the way everybody sounds surprised. Virtually no game (some of the northern ones excepted) sees any set of fans manage to sing the whole national anthem. Its pathetic - and something you don't see in your "soccer type mobs" or at rugby games. We have an amazing sport and rightly crow that fans can all stand together and have the craic, but nonetheless lets not pretend that a lack of respect is some sort of new phenomenon or just Cork & Tipp fans.

Ah paddy, going into the match yesterday I came across a lad wearing half a Mayo jersey and half a Tipp jersey sown together. I had a strong urge to ask him if he was paddyogall. It wasn't you by any chance?
