Ahh, Carlow - the aristocrates of gaelic football.

Handpassing is fine. It a part of the game ya cant kick the ball all the time. The problem is when a team gets 13 men behind the ball and defends the whole game. Its awful to look at. The other team have no choice but to handpass the ball around aimlessly. I've nothing against the ulster lads but it was them who started this negative stuff that is ruining the game.

662069 i saw all those games you mention mayotyroneman. They all followed a similar pattern. Defending in packs. Turn the ball over and then handpass it to death until you get a shooting opportunity. If tyrone kick-passed the ball more than 5 times in any of those games i would be stunned

I would be stunned if you posted anything other than Tyrone jibes on here

Did Mickey Harte put beastings in your tae or something?

IN the first week, so called purists of the game Kerry hand-passed the ball about 30 times more than Armagh v Derry game.

Go Figure.

wildrover, surely Ulster has been the most successful province the past 10 years, so its up to the rest to adapt and keep up. survival of the fittest eh

`funny that for years coaches were trying to get forwards to defend and when it finally happens it's called blanket defence

football where no on but the backs can tackle might be more exciting to some but it naieve to others

I would imagine that the pace of an Ulster championship game is hard to acustom yourself to if all you are used to is muckball in carlow.

How does a Carlow man have the neck to criticise any team or province's style of football?

I'd rather get to finals than spend my life wondering what it would be like to be in one.

the poster from Carlow has every right to voice his opinion and it belittles those who are trying to deny him that right

Just because you come from a small footballing county doesnt mean you dont know anything about football. So people from carlow and mayo have a right tto voice their opinions too.

Carlow doesn't even sound like an Irish county, it is usually the name of the dopey clown in a circus with the big red nose and curly ginger wig. Does ANYONE know where Carlow is and how to get to it? In a quiz it's always Carlow that people can't get when they are asked to name the 32 counties......which shows how inconsequential and irrelevant the county is. Talking of clowns how is Carlow football this weather? Furthermore it has the funniest most awful kit in Gaelic Games, like someone threw all their colours into a wash with a white shirt..............and out came the Carlow top.

Bearing in mind that Cavan have two Ulster titles in 40 years and Tyrone have won 6 Ulster titles in between Cavan's last two victories in 1969 and 1997 I think you chose the wrong team to use as an example

your post dosen't make sense

a tyrone poster was dissing the carlow poster on the basis of their lack of success

my post means that prior to the all ireland wins Tyrone people had opinions

Someone said kerry and tipp both tried to play football. Their match had 80 handpasses more than Armagh v Derry!
