Four young country lads killed on our roads....

Jimbo/ORH, there is not a single politician brave or principled enough to enact sufficiently stringent legislation to at least try and cut down the risk of these tradegies occuring again. The motoring lobby will always carry the clout, both political and financial, to ensure that their interests come first.

God rest their souls.

God help their families !! There is a serious "rally" culture in Donegal and young "boy-racers" need to be targeted and are i believe, sure didn't a young garda get killed by a young so-called "joy rider" only a few months ago !!

A terribly sad and tragic event - Devastating for all involved
Sadly I had said earlier in this thread that there have already been several tragic accidents in the Inishowen area and yet again this part of the country suffers another horific loss. Surely someone should examine what is causing so many disproportionate horrific losses in one area - Is there a boy racer culture - Is policing as effective - Is the infrastructure worse - Is drink driving more likely to be tolerated. Whatever the reason action needs to be taken.

Sympathy to the families, friends and community.

Any driver under the age of 23 should be limited to 1 litre cars. Any suped up cars on the road should be consistantly targeted by police for checks etc. This would stop young lads being able to get hold of very fast cars and discourage them frm buying suped up death-traps

We should start by copying Germany in the licence system. Its a joke how easy it is to get a licence here. Teach everyone to drive first, then let them out on the road. All new drivers should have to face as tough a test as they do in Germany and all current drivers should have to pass an advanced driving test within a certain period of time if they want to keep their licence. A 1litre car is still capable of speeds of 160kph+ in the hands of a quick driver so limiting the engine won't do anything, teaching people how to control a skid or understeer and how to properly crash car will save peoples life

Eight people killed here in donegal last night with the ages ranging from 19-23 in one car and an elderly man in his late 60s.Please i would ask people just to remember the Families and friends of the dead and pray for the recovery of the other young person in the car and also for people to stop comparing the death of Garda Robbie in the same sentence as this. Two totally different sets of circumstances.RIP LADS
