(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Wel lads. I want to go on a good family holiday this year. i have been to alot off places the past few years where there was few irish and a lot of ''across the water''. I need a place with alot of irish.Ive never being to Santa Ponsa. I hear there is a lot of irish there. Any place in France or Portugal? Please hit me with a few ideas of your experiences. When i say Family holiday i mean teenagers with parents...

My parents went to Fuertaventura last year and loved it, said it was really nice and catered for all sorts. They swore they would go back. Now my folks are mid-late 50s but my dads a gaa head and a pub man. Mum is really easy going. Said there was tons to do, no litter and very cheap. the local beer was nice, i think he thought it was very like Bud.
There is a great water park there and they plan on going back. If money was no option, if i were you id go stateside and maybe go on a cruise.

I would spend a week in Mountjoy than go to Santa Ponsa. Infact you'll probably meet the same sort of people anyway! Go somewhere off the beaten track or one of the great European cities - Barcelona, Rome, Paris.

for teenagers though its not the best.there wouldnt be too much to do for them. there's very few nightclubs or teenage discos on the island. everything else you say is correct though, McCarthys bar and rosie o gradys etc are great pubs

Depends what age the kids are really. Best family hols we've had were to Calan Bosch in Menorca and Tsillivi in Zakynthos, two small resorts with lovely beaches, great tavernas for eating out and water parks nearby. If I had to make a call it would be Zakynthos as I prefer the whole Greek thing and besides, they could do with some extra income!

Forgot to ask, why do you want to go somewhere where theres a load of paddys on holiday? Me personally, I avoid any Irish bars or centres like the plague, why go to these places and eat bacon and cabbage or fecking tayto crisps, surely a holidays also about escapism!

Zakynthos is excellent, However Argassi is better then Tsillivi.

Fortyfive, you are just as likely to run into trouble in those resorts as you are in any city. My experience of them anyway is that there are a lot of ***holes making eijits of themselves. And as someone else said why go somewhere that you will be surrounded by Paddies and Brits?

For sunshine, sea, culture, the Alifuuto nature reserve for the adults and where the kids can (pretend to) be pirates, Mogadishu is the destination for any family looking for that little something different.

Now your talking paddy, although when we were there we couldnt get on the beach at the shipwreck as it was too choppy and the boat couldnt get in close enough.
