Failing to bring on Fallon in the 96 final after getting man of the match the previous day. If we could have only brougth him on for the last ten minutes. But apparently he was not one of the five named subs on the day and if he was brought on the county board could have been fined around five hundred pounds. That was on top of not playing O'Neill and McDonald that day. And we wonder what the curse on Mayo football is. If we had won that day how many finals might we have won since. Even more maddening is our failure to learn from past mistakes. xxx (Mayo) - Posts: 1275 - 10/07/2008 12:03:39 46195 Link 0 |

From the Na, I honestly dont think Galway were too worried when Mayo scored that goal. There was still plenty of time left and no need to panic. If anything the goal did ye'z no favours as it put you ahead with nothing to chase for, perhaps believing ye had done enough. U were well on top at the time of the goal but fell to pieces again in the last 5 mins when close games are truely won and lost. mossbags (Galway) - Posts: 1089 - 14/07/2008 14:04:52 47971 Link 0 |
