Pudders posted this a while ago might be helpful but it's hard to give a list as there a big skillset.

1. An ability to hit the sliotar as hard as you can (when going for goal you don't even need to aim for the corners or anything, just hit the sliotar low and hard)
2. An ability to whack aimlessly at the sliotar when it is lying on the ground
3. An ability to aimlessly wave your stick at the sliotar when it is in the air

Think that's about it really, can't think of anything I've left out

Pomroy, you've set my mind at ease. There I was thinking that I'd been a crap hurler, when I'd actually mastered all the major skills quite comprehensively!

Re: PomeroyPlunkett's post

The skills of football so are:

An ability to strike with the hand (as opposed to throw) a large round ball to a colleague standing no more than 5m away from you.
An ability to jump and slap down the same ball when it is kicked high in your vicinity (no need to be able to catch the ball, as long as you are able to prevent someone else from doing so you'll be fine).
An ability to kick this ball long and high in the general vicinity of the goalmouth towards a giant 6'6+ colleague.
Strong wrists are required for dragging and pulling out of opponents limbs/jerseys.
An extremely thick skin so you can ignore the disgusting taunts of Tyrone corner backs (deafness may be another option, real or artificial e.g. earplugs/earmuffs).
A background in UFC is also useful to withstand wrestling from opponents (a particularly prevalent tactic among opponents from Tyrone).
An ability to deliver sly off-the-ball digs to opponents without getting caught by any of the 7 officials.

These are the main skills required anyway.

Oh so that's why we beat Wexford with consumate ease without getting out of second gear, we fouled our way to victory. Like I said I felt embarassed for Wexford that day. However you should be eternally grateful you got to see your county play one of the greatest GAA teams of all time

GreenGlens10:

Don't base your project on Pomeroy as you may well get a negitive percent mark.... infact if you had to choose between handign in a project with just your name or had in a project with pomeroy synopsis i'd just hand in the project with your name on it you'd get a better mark.

Base it on the link i posted don't think you can go far wrong there.

Again admin how is he still getting away with these posts and you claim there is still no biased.

Wexford have been playing THE GREATEST GAA TEAM of all time over the last 4 years in the Leinster Hurling championship.

Again Pomeroy comes on to WUM a hurling thread.

I think I highlighted skills other than the ability to foul opponents in that post Pomeroy (although Tyrone are extremely adept at those skills).

I think that the biggest problem here is that you wake up!! There's not much of anything in Pomeroy, neither football nor hurling, barely a short street to get in and out of it as soons as possible.

Nocky, if you are going to take him up on something do it and don't tar the rest of Tyrone with his brush. This is how he accumulates allies. Just ignore him.

_________

His profile should have been deleted long ago, when he wished for hurling to "die a slow death throughout Ireland".

Please quit calling for me to be banned, I'm giving my opinions on Hurling and I welcome people challenging my viewpoint with coherent counter-arguments. To be honest calling for me to be banned merely shows that you are unable to do this and have, in effect, lost the argument

I accept that it was in retaliation, and understand that PP is wumming, but Nocky's post is much worse than PP's and I think it proves how precious some hurling fans are. There really is no call for saying that about Tyrone, never mind the game of Gaelic Football.

I am actually much more involved with football than hurling Breffni, as Pinkie or many of the other posters on the Wexford site will tell you. Like you said my post was in retaliation to Pomeroy's wind-up post. Your disagreeing with me at every single opportunity is getting pretty tiresome at this stage.
