Rice_Flowers maybe you didnt venture dwn 2 pj duke park 2 see mountnugent and shercock play maybe you were still nursing a hangover from the nite before in the stray sod and still in bed with the sheets pulled up over your mouth but i defo didnt see mountnugent dragging shercock down 2 there level it was prob one of the best games of the junior championship so far and seen as i was in the stands i spotted a few lads in red tops i wonder what part of the county they wer from any ideas?????

Mountnugent got off to a great start and went 1-04 to 0-0 up after about 15mins. Half-time score was 1-10 to 0-2. M.nugent started the 2nd half brightly and tagged on another couple of points and another goal to seal the deal. The result was never in any douth.

Templeport had no clue what to do, except start throwing sly digs and fists, trying to take out Mountnugent danger men. M.nugent didnt get drawn into any messing-unusually. T.port were totally outplayed from 1 to 15. Hard to know how good M.nugent were. best for T.port was no. 9 Killian Smith and for M.nugent was no. 5 D Sheridan - although they had lots of good performers. Not really any test for Mountnugent and will do them no good going into what will be a real tough test against Drung in final.

Mountnugent hammered TP deservedly. Tp never got started and Mountnugent took advantage and I wish them the best of luck in the final, may the underdogs triumph!!! However behind me in the stands was a man who began to accuse Piper ie padraig mcgovern of trying to take out Givney. This accusation was unfounded unfair and totally outrageous. Then several fans behind me, ten minutes into the half began to chant "Bring on Drung", i repeat Mountnugent won as the better team and i wish them luck, however this behaviour is totally over the top... They are still underdogs and should gain some perspective.. best of luck to mountnugent. Givney is a great player and carried Mountnugent during every tough period, Hope he gets the medal he deserves.

How about it lads, junior championship final for m.nugent!!! Not much to say about the t.port match, m.nugent totally outclassed and out played t.port... I know Drung will be raging favourites, but m.nugent have a serious chance of actually winning this champ. They improved so much in the last few months, and are now playing with serious confidence. Any1 whose seen them in there last few games has had to been impressed. Givneys a real class act alrite but m.nugent are by no means relying on him, six different scorers against s.gaels and seven against t.port. I really rate there chances against drung giving their history in finals recently and the way m.nugent are playing is just awesome at the moment. I've seen all of m.nugents mathes from shercock in stradone rite thru to the t.port game on sunday! They could very well of pipped shercock that evening in a very entertaing and tough match as I'm sure the shercock lads will agree, and other than the kildallon game have been magnificent since.
Opinions welcome on junior champions for 2008, but I really feel m.nugent have a great chance!!

As a Shercock player who played against both finalists recently i'd just like to wish them the best of luck in the final. If Mountnugent win it will be the 3rd year in a row that we beat the eventual winners in the 1st round! Drung are very strong as we found out friday and any team that has 4 recent county panalists would give the intermediate championship a good run never mind the junior! As for my own team i have to say it was the best effort i ever seen put in. This bulmers 5 rubbish did not affect things at all. The panel of 30plus players stuck together all year and trained hard whenever asked. When the going got tough and the pressure came on only 2 people got cowardly and ran! They were the ones talking all year about sticking together and they were a member of management and our trainer!

Well done to mountnugent on an impressive victory against templeport, i heard givney, smith and sheridan were very good. Some of the posters (millhouse) are getting very caught up with the result, dont forget Drung are a good outfit and are rightly still hot favourites. It has been a great yeay for mtnugent but i think this might be one hurdle too many for them. Like most neutrals il be shouting for mtnugent as they are the underdog but i just cant see them doing it.

Just want to congratulate both Mountnugent and Drung on reaching the Junior Final this year. Both teams deserve to be there. Drung will go into the match as raging hot favourites but looking at Mountnugents recent performances, it has the potential to turn into a very entertaining games. Best of luck to both teams!

But templeport question?Do you train twice weekly,many off your players looked way out of shape for an hours football.

Mountugent were very good going forward,but Drung will play direct and hardhitting.If they wana win they ll have to protect Gibney a little more.Not convinced patterson has the ability to work enough in the middle.A little less flash more work & he d fit the bill.

The intermediate was a good game good standard of football..Redhills i hope they keep it up.
