Would like to see the Munchies beat Drung to keep the Advert alive but i can't really see it happening. If they are to win they need to score goals tha has always been the case with them. If James Reilly is in nets this might be easier said than done.

Brilliant, I've never heard of a 'clever knife' before. Must get me one. It could make my sandwiches in the morning while I'm shaving

re. stargazer 73 .A couple of bold predictions there, Drung, Shercock to be beaten that would really open up the junior championship but i dont expect them both to be beaten, Shercock may be prone to meltdowns but i dont see it happening against arva despite their recent improvement. I cant see any way the munchies can beat Drung who should have too much quality. I think it is very had to predict the other 2 quarters but i would have a slight fancy for kildallon to beat templeport (who remember are lucky not be playing division 4 football) and mountnugent to just shade it over shannon gaels.

Predictions on junior Q/F:

Munchies vs. Drung:

Cannot possibly see a munchie victory, a lot will depend as said earlier on, on them scoring goals and a few of them at that, can't see this wit Reilly in the nets. Wud like to see a munchie victory to keep the dream alive but cannot see drung being bet at this stage, def not unbeatable and maybe caught of guard in the latter stages though... Drung by five or six points...

Killdallon vs. Templeport:

This will be a very close encounter. I wud of predicted an easy kildallon victory but after watching them against m.nugent I wudn be so sure. Rely heavily on duigan and Reilly and if templport can cancel out these 2threats they have a very good chance. Don't tink t.port will handle them especially if the match is in breffni or some open pitch with lots of space on a dry evening. Killdallon by 2pts...

Shercock vs Arva:

Wud of said a shercock victory but I tink arva are a very physical side and shercock will not like this wat so ever. I tink a lot will depend on location again, if arva can get shercock on a tight pitch and ruffle them up then they can def beat them. Shercock just to have to much tho. Shercock by 3pts...

Mt.nugent vs S.gaels:

Depends on wat m.nugent side turn up on the evening, and I suppose this applies to gaels too. I've seen m.nugent a few times, looked good against shercock and b.bridge but less than impressive against a very poor cornafean side, and other than last 20min against kildallon looked poor. Could come down to who ever comes out on top between givney for m.nugent and e.reilly for the gaels. Also the momentum of the qualifiers to be crucial for nuggets, who are going into thier 5th game while s.gaels have only beaten maghera 6wks ago. M.nugent by 2 points.....

In stitches at your depiction of the "clever knife" raging denn, but I think you should drop both sharp and clever because clearly JC (Junior Cert perhaps) is just a tool!!

Templeport v Kildallan
Great game in prospect, templeport dont have 2 forwards of the quality of R Reilly or A duignan. If its a dry evening expect Kildallan to win,if not a more determined port could sneak it. Kildallan by 1

Drung v Munchies
another great game in prospect, munchies should be in great shape and v well prepared, their big weakness is in the quality of their panel...no bench worth mentioning. Drung will have their homework done on carroll/mccabe who wont quater the room they got the last day. drung to march on and win by 5.

Shercock v Arva
Shercock have been waiting 12 months for this game, no mention of the bulmers 6 this year. Every year they flop when they hit breffni so getting the game in stradone will suit them. This will be a physical game and dont expect Arva to lie down but Shercock should win by 4

Shannon Gaels v mountnugent.
Normally the verdict would go to gaels but the tough game m'nugent have had will really stand to them. Shannon Gaels have far more quality players at their disposal and with Tom Reilly at the helm this team will be really up for the game. Mountnugnet bandwagon to end, Gaels by 2

Great - at last some real discussion rather than the usual b***hing that normally goes on here. Even if all of you rubbished my predictions!!! Must say mine were influenced by what I'd like to see happening and if neither Drung or Shercock were in the Semi's the champoinship ud be wide open by Sunday week

Agree with you there again larry, duignan and reilly are 2 class acts but if that young wing half forward is playin that came on the last time against kildallon could be a different story seems to put points over for fun. also if i also remember from that same match ronan reily didn't do to much damage when that young dolan boy was on him. Think that game will be one of the tightest in the champ, neighbouring clubs alot of history between the two.

Just after comin from the Shercock Arva match. Shercock won by 3 points. They were about 7 ahead at one stage and missed a few goals. The played some nice football and look like a team that can play it both long nd short.

Will be interesting to see if they can play in breffini for a change.

Arva a big strong physical team but Shercock coped well with the hard hitting.

Anybody else have any comments on this game and what do you think are Shercocks chances? Should make final if avoid Drung.

Was at the Munchie V Drung game. No contest apart from the first 10 minutes. Drung totally dominated the game. Drung defence was excellent. Shut out Munchies so called danger men. Munchies should have played their own game, instead the were trying all evening to double team watters and rough him up. In the mean time mCEntee, Galligan and reilly were tearing them apart. They one by 8. It could have been more. Drung look strong and it will take a good team to beat them. they are very mobile and fit.

Yeah, Was at the Drung Game. Drung were playing at a different level than the munchies - never looked like they were going to be in any trouble. Led 7 to 3 at half time and were cruising. held out for an easy win. Really do look good for the championship now. Well i really got those two predictions wrong!!!! anyway I'll stick with my predictions for the other two Quarters. But It looks like a Drung Shercock final if they avoid each other in the Semis

Tipped into Laveys Pitch to view the Drung V Munchie match, Drung were by far the stronger and better team excellent mid field, but as a neutral I felt that Drung were very lucky with the referring decisions and the blinkered vision of the lines men and umpires.
At least two of the Drung team should have received their marching orders. While the munchie player deserved his red card it was plain to be seen that it was aggravation from the Drung player that caused it. Also I counted at least three times the Drung goalie took a kicked out while the ball was still rolling.
Overall though it looked like neither team got going in full flight and it was a poor enough match..
