Mountnugent hammered b.bridge sunday evenin. Looked ominious for m.nugent in first 10mins but once they got goin they simply blew b.bridge apart. B.bridge seemed to lose all confindece once m.nugent got the couple of goals and let there discipline go. One so called 'county' player involved in a number of off the ball incidents!! There was only one county player on show and that was m.nugents no.11, scored 4 goals and 3pts was a class act, seen him a few times now and has been the stand out player at junior football this year. When alls said cant understand how the bridge left no.6 marking him as he was being destroyed after5mins. M.nugent loked pretty impressive, and have been so far in the champ with a couple of narrow defeats. They have the momentum now thru the qualifiers and should have enough to overcome shannon gaels, who have only had one match against maghera in the champ. As shown in the all-ireland the momentum of the qualifers is crucial and m.nugent with the momentum behind them and having beaten s.gaels well already in the league, I can see them making a semi...

M.Nugent destroyed B.Bridge last night in Lavey, the physical mountnugent side proved to strong for the star struck Bridge!! Bridge went into the game expecting a easy win and couldnt deal with the presure mountnugent pressed after 10mins..G.Patterson and G.Gibney wer outstanding for M.Nugent with the rest of the boys working seriously hard,i say fair play to M.Nugent and I hope they beat the Gaels...a serious threat to any team!

Hav 2 agree with 365Lakes the two boys were probily the best for M.Nugent with E.smith and C.Caffrey working hard too.Mountnugent could cause an upset here and i wouldnt b surpried to see them in a final!!

I have to comment on the impact John Brady made for M.Nugent at the weekend when he came on,,i hear he was doing well at training and deserved to be starting, maybe a bad call by management? he is a great team player and should never have been dropped!!!

Have to agree with 365lakes, looked like BB expected an easy time of it and being 6 points up after 10 minutes they probably thought it would be a walk in the park. Fair play to mountnugent they didnt panic and went on to lead by 9 points at one stage, just looked liked they wanted it more than BB. the class of Givney on the 40 was the crucial factor with BB management persisting with the centre half back on him all day. After seeing a few junior matches this year Mountnugent would scare some of the favourites if they got some consistency in their performances which seems to be their biggest downfall.

will people from omuntnugent stop blocking this forum with tripe about how good mountnugent are, if they were any good they wouldnt of being beaten in the championship this year twice already, they have some good up and coming players but to reckon theyl be title contenders is just short of madness, drung or the munchies to win it this year,

thats heavy talkin 'JC'. What have the Munchies done so far? Its easy to predict Drung. I was at Shercock Mountnegent match at start and knew from that night that Mountnegent were far from finished. Its goin to be interesting to see how Shannon Gaels, who have not had a competitive game for 6 weeks will cope with a team who will be playin their 5th match!! You might be eatin humble pie my friend!

As far as i'm aware, the qualifier system in Junior allows 1 team the chance to lose twice, This year M.Nugent lost to Shercock in 1st round, then beat Cornafean in 1st qualifier match, then lost to Kildallon in next game, and then on to beat BB in qualifier match 3.. its a bit stupid that a team can lose twice and still progress. it happened last year where 1 team had the same chance.. not sure who thou!!

Hope Mountnugent give the JFC a good rattle. A few young talented players like Givney Caffrey and Patterson will give them a good chance. They beat Shannon Gaels alredy this year so could be worth a gamble

re - 365 lakes
your the lemon, i said either the munchies or drung will win it, is it impossible for one of them to win it - no,so what are you talking about, i just think mountnugent have lost twice this year in the championship and everyone is in here shouting about how good they are and what there going to do, for gods sake how can people say mountnugent are going to wim the championship with much stronger teams like DRUNG,MUNCHIES,SHERCOCK who have beaten montnugent already and also Kildallon as well who stufed them, what does other gaels think?other them seven or eight mountnugent guys coming in and blocking the message board up with how good they are

re: JC
if ya have a look JC at the title of the thread, it states it is a forum for the junior champ 08... that would entitle anyone from mountnugent, or wherever to comment on mountnugent games, no?? just because at present there is more posts for them than most other teams should be none of your concern.and if ya read the posts properly, noone said they would win anything... the closest anyone came to a prediction was saying they will be a threat for shannon geals. maybe there is more computers in mountnugent than your wee nook of the county... lol

re - 365 lakes
god this is so funny, you reckon no one said mountnugent would win it?look back at your messages on the previous page, you tipped mountnugent to win it as a shercock man you lemon and then you stated it wouldnt be possible for drung or the munchies to win the championship,i wouldnt say your the cleverest knife in the box

JC I think you should just leave it at this stage. nobody has said anything on this message board about M.Nugent winning anything. it mentions possible semi. another mentions tough for Shannon gael, another mentions contenders, which also stands for the other 7 teams left, cause there's damn all in it from quarter final stages in Junior..

JC, a smart statement you made there: The cleverest knife in the box! Should it not be the sharpest? and should it not be tool? Do you keep your knives in a box? They must be clever enough to get out of a drawer.

Are you a clever knife is the real question?

Right enuf talk - heres my predictions for the Quarter finals

Arva V's Shercock - Shercock should win it - but the perennial question is at what stage will they be upset/shocked this year. Arva are not a bad side an i Give them the nod to put an end to Shercocks misery before they get their hopes up too high Verdict Arva.
Mountnugent V's Shannon Gaels on years league form Shannon Gaels but the Nugent guys are on a bit of a roll. I predict their bandwagon will roll on for another game. Verdict mountnugent.
Drung v's Munchies - Drung are raging favourites i think they are money on for the championship. They have 3 county men in their midst. Munchies will be well up for this one. Will go for a shock here Verdict Munchies (to win and throw the championship wide open.)
Kildallon V's Templeport - toughest one to call - local pride, fierce rivalry, two decent teams that would fancy going all the way. Templeport may have the championship killer mentality though they seem to shade these games between the two. Verdict Templeport.

As to outright winners bit early to call - I know i've gone for munchie to beat Drung - but i honestly think the overall winner will come from that game!!

only an opinion - feel free to tear it to shreds!!!
