Yea I'll take that back.. 'Big Janny' is a tremendous keeper and would not be too far of a county panel the way that he is maturing in the position. With adequate training from decent coaches he would be a serious understudy to Miller on the county panel. I feel mtnugent have a great chance against Kildallon and if 'Big Janny' can prevent the tricky Kildallon forwards scoring a sneaky goal then the nuggets will go through.

alright, so i am not going to buy a ticket home just yet, sounds like it was a close game with mountnugent and kildallon, going by the score amyway. reports please.... and by all accounts "big jahnny" is doing a deadly job in goals for mtnugent

Was at the m.nugent vs kildallon game. Dont really know where to start, was a poor match in terrible conditions. M.nugent could and probably should of been dead and buried but came back to within 2pts of kildallon and could of pipped them at the end. seemed as if m.nugent finished the game with there strongest team on the park, kildallon nevr got a kick fot the last 20mins. M.nugent backs gifted killdallon 1-4 thru mistakes in the first half, as pointed out previously m.nugent were v.poor on the wings especially wing backs and corner back, seemed to learn nothing from cornafaen match. Arguably the best forward in junior football aaron duigan was let run riot at wing forward, and coupled with ronan reilly they demolished a poor m.nugent defence. When they eventually got to grips and tightened up kildallon looked very ordinary. Overall they deserved their victory but I think m.nugent will feel its a game they let slip and with a q-final against templeport its def a great chane to make a semi gone a begging!!

Drung have to be still favourites for the junior. Probably meet shercock in the final. Quality has been average so far in my opinion, hopefully the quarter finals will see an improvement in standard.

Drung are still the favourites to win - but they have a tough match in the quarter final - in my opinion the two the winner of the Drung/Munchies quarter final will win it out. Munchies might just sneak it on sunday week. What are the chances of a repeat of the intermediate quarter final of 1991 when it took 3 and a half hours football to separate these two teams.

Observerexile- Are you wise at all? Munchies may have a big day in them for Sunday bu even if they do manage to beat Drung I still wouldn't count them as favourites. There are at least four teams left with a greater chance of winning it then the munchies. I really hope they do beat Drung because it would leave the championship wide open. Still I think it may be wishful thinking.

The four semi finalist should be

!. Drung.
2. Templeport.
3. Shercock.
4. Shannon Gaels.

Drung the obvious favourites. However Shannon Gaels and Shercock have good young teams and Templeport have been goin well in league of late. This competition will only get goin properly after quarter finals when poor teams are gone.

Boys,,we all know how open junior football is!! its impossible to make a prediction at this stage..Drung are nothing in this championship just as shercock are no bright star either!! its completely open..And why are every1 making Templeport such a sucess, they would be one of the weaker oppents in my eyes and i know as a player most teams would be happy to face them!!! As a shercock man myself i believe M.nugent if they beat B,Bridge are a good outside bet with us as favourites!!

alot being said about templeport giving jfc title a good shot, after all this is the team who lost to maghera in a relegation playoff last year, kildallan will be up for the game and should beat them

Cavan4ever your wrong there its not the same templeport team that got beaten against maghera by any means and they have proved this in the league by taking out the big names and getting into a quarter final albeit by beating a poor cornafean team. you cant call who will be more revved up for the game in a local derby. Dont forget Templeport beat Kildallon with the last kick of the game in the league so they will want revenge. Expect a classic.

Underbelieveable - why u rule out the munchies. i agree its a long road to go yet but the munchies were in the final two years ago. they do have the talent, and if they get over drung on sunday week i would not put any team too far ahead of them from that stage on!!! time will tell anyhow currently theres nine teams left - I fancy the munchies - time will tell if im right or not

JECHT yes templeport had a good run in league, they had alot to prove after last year and we're alot fitter than other teams they played in league however the other big teams have been gearing their training towards the championship are will have passed templeport out. Teams like Shercock, Drung etc have been keeping very quiet and gearing themselves for a major assault on the jfc. All the same your right in saying the quaterfinal should be a class game

I never said i thought Tport were going to win the JFC in fact i think its unlikely that any of the junior league teams (with the possible exception of the Munchies) will win against Drung or Shercock who have been playing a higher standard all year. What i was saying is that they have improved themselves and have every chance against Killdallon in the quarters.

Mountnugent hammered Butlersbridge 4-08 to 1-11 Sun evening in Lavey. should have been more but the ref seemed a bit generous towards the end with frees for BB. Actually poorly referred in general.. Looked like BB had no answer for Mountnugents forwards, and didn't have any strength on the bench to make decent changes, while Mountnugent could leave good players on the bench, and only really used them to waste time towards the end. Some wonderful displays of fielding from Mountnugents midfield and centre forward, over what's supposed to be a county footballer(Mulvey). Well deserved win in the end for Mountnugent and looks like back to the drawing board for the Bridge..
