Im sure no-one was giving the Munchies a chance a couple of years ago when they were playing swad in the final and they nearly done it that day, they were well up at half time and swad came back at them to draw level and then went on to win the replay.

Just goes to show anything can happen in a final!!! Maybe if Mountnugent believe enough they'll go on and win it... I hope so and it'll give alot of hope to so called lesser lights in the Junior Champ for next year..

Best of luck to Drung on Sunday. They deserve a victory on Sunday after all the dissapointment they have had over the years. Its a testiment to the players that they keep picking themselves up and getting on with it. Good luck lads from your neighbouring clubs.

Having played both teams I personally think that Drung will win. I think Mountnugent have some very good players, but not enough of them around the pitch, this is what will win the game for Drung who have a very strong 15.

Drung 1-12, Mountnugent 0-9.

Egg all over my face this morning....

Better team won, could see the strong armagh influence on Drung - from the begining when they broke from the parade and burst into the mountnugent team to their defensive style of play, slowing the game down for physio, not willing to shake hands with opponents before game and even the uisce maor wouldnt share water with opposition.... So that what it takes to win a junior champ - not to mention a bigger back-room team than alot of county set-ups. Tom Carr must be thinking he's understaffed!

I have to say that the more experienced and skilful team won on Sunday. Drung were by far superior team from 1 to 15. They particularly were outstanding around the middle third of the field from half back to half forward. Id say Karl O Rourke never had or never will again have as easy game like that at full back . I though Alan Curran was outstanding on Gibney. Ok he got a couple of points, but he marshalled him really well. Galligan and mc caul totally dominated the middle and they pitched in with a couple of points. Barry Watters was outstanding, pace, power and his awareness of men around him made him deservedly man of the match. Just gone 19 years of age, what a talent if looked after right. I also thought Noel Houston on the wing was a close second to man of match. He got 3 points from play and worked his socks off. All in all Drung looked very fit and they were able to control the tempo of the game with the way they kept possession. You could definitely see the Northern influence on their play. Well done to them. Long overdue and totally deserved as the were miles ahead of any other team in Junior.

Have to agree Fair play to drung they won the champoinship with out really breaking sweat. The closest anone cam to them was in the first round. Interesting to see who comes down from intermediate next year and see if they can repeat the performance of Drung - cos the other Junior clubs ar all of the same ability any one of about 8 could win it on their day!

from a mountnugent mans point of view though, what was going on on the line????
why did they persist with ronan kearney on watters??
why did they move gibhney to full forward when he needed to be brought into the game??
and as for taking off eurich with his hands on the ball to take a free???
