Padraic Joyce continues on

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I will admit he had a good game in '01 and I respect people's opinions on Joyce. However I think we can all agree that in the past 6 or 7 years he has done nothing of note, there's no doubting that. OmaghRedHand it is quite ironic that you feel I'm not a Gael for not liking Hurling but then go on the way you do about certain clubs in Tyrone. Omagh (population of how many thousand) are always going to be better than Pomeroy (population a fraction of that). I'd be confident we'll be meeting you in Division 1 next year but your comments reflect badly on you

The pensioner Padraig has at the time of writing got 3 balls in the Galway - New York game. He has scored 1-2

Somehow I think that your coming off worse in the debates we are having in terms of popularity. If population was commensurate with success would Dublin not be winning the All Ireland every year? I don't think I've spoke badly of any club as far as I am aware. Clonoe don't have that big a population but still managed to win the championship. I see your hopes of playing in Division 1 too another hammering today as well

Lads the guy is a legend and a gentleman. Did I already tell you this?
Another outstanding performance from one of the greats of our game and a totally under-rated player in my opinion.

scored 1-7 last night and was the difference between the two teams. an absolute class act and genuine legend of the game

Waiting for Pomeroy to go on about it only being New York.

'Waiting for Pomeroy to go on about it only being New York.'

Of course I'll go on about it being New York, thay are truly woeful. If people think scoring well against New York makes you top class then I don't know what to say. Let's see how he gets on outside Connacht, I'm guessing him, like Galway, will do absolutely nothing

bit a presumptious to say Galway will even get out of Connacht. Sligo's to lose

I meant in the qualifiers the odds are Galway will play a non-Connacht team. Sadly Sligo do have a chance which just shows how weak the entire Connacht Championship is

Yeah I would agree with the vast majority of the posters apart from the obvious WUMs that JC is still a class act as he again demonstrated last Sunday.

Apologies re the small error. Of course I meant to say PJ instead of JC who is another class operator in a different code.

Can't disagree with you Pomeroy, but against which teams are we to judge PJ? Cos I see you're already be claiming that Connacht SFC games are against substandard opposition as well!

If Joyce does anything of note against a top 10 Football team then we can begin to talk to see if he's any good. Granted Mayo may scrape into this category

I only know of one Tyrone forward I would rate better than PJ, Mr Canavan. Two legends!

Where is Wexford?

Wexford is a small county on the very south-Eastern tip of Ireland. If you're asking where it is on the top 10 football counties list my answer would be nowhere near, not even in the top 20 in fact. Off the top of my head around 22nd

PJ has done well against nearly all the top teams down through the years. Just beacuse the players around him are not good enough to win an AI for the last 6 or 7 years is not his fault. Peter Canavan struggled on an average Tyrone team for about 9 years before he tasted an AI in 2003. Would you say that he was no good before that Pomeroy as that seems to be what you're insinuating?
