Any opinions on the Meath legends new football role. Our Forwards need a miracle if the league is anything to go by.

Geraghty is one of my favourite all time players, maybe not the most skilful but he brought many more things to the table. If the Longford men learn from his approach they will give 100% in every game, never pull out of a tackle and negate the opposition's skill advantage by being in their faces for 70 minutes.

GD is a legend in my book and he will pay dividends.

Still a total git when its your team facing him though.

His experience, especially against Louth, will probably stand to the Longford forwards on the 23rd of May.

"maybe not the most skilful"?
He had serious skill.
Sure he destroyed Tyrone in 96 and 07. ;)

one of my favorite players of all time would have loved if he was a Dub. I think his experience can only be a help anyway

Can only be good for Longford, his experience and know how should be of great benefit.

Ha ha. That's some meeting of intellectuals up in Longford between himself and Glen Ryan! 2 legends but neither of them are going to be the next Micky Harte.

Why not? Would seem as good a choice as any at the moment. His experience will surely bring something to the Longford Footballers.

Best of luck to Graham and to Longford. He may not be everybodys cup of tea but nobody can question his commitment

Hopefully this combination will prove to be sucessful, did he ever coach clubwise in meath? I know he played with Clann Na Ngael, wasnt there a club he played with before them, or am i wrong? open to correction on this.
It will be interesting to see, i would have never put the two together but only time will tell, so good luck to them both. Hopefully he will stay with them and it wont be only for a temporary measure.

I'm glad you're a geraghty fan but i'd have to question you when you say 'not the most skillful'. If anything it was his skill level that made him stand out. Probably the most skilful Meath player that I have seen and I've been following them since 1985

A fantastic player, surprised somebody said he wasnt the most skillful. He was one of the most skillful players of his generation. Some of the points he scored against dublin down the years were nothing short of sensational.

He coached the Na Finna (Enfield) team last year. And before he transfered to Clann na nGael he played for Seneschalstown.

Padre Pio would have been some player if the chronic hand & foot injuries hadn't shortened his career.

To be fair fredrickwood, Roscommon need Padre pio, Longford need Jesus and the 12 apostles to make any sort of impact on the championship.
