A few years back was having a staff party. Worked in the bar in a hotel with most my mates so them staff does were always messy. Started off in my house with a few beers and vodkas and then onto the club for shots and the like. I used to have a habit of taking the remainders of different peoples drinks and mixing them all in the one glass. One of the last clear memories of the night was a glass of whiskey with baileys curdling in it. The rest of this story is pieces together from flashbacks and others recolections.

Anyway was a Sunday night and the bars closed early. Those who've been around belfast know there is only a few places to try late on a sunday. First was Thompsons. Thompsons however was either closed the doors or full. I decided though I'd try to slip the bouncer a fiver, the way they do in the movies, with the cool handshake. Needless to say it didn't work. So where to go next. There was of course to be an after party but we wanted to have a bit more time on the town. So the lesbian in the group suggested the gay bar the kremlin. So we thought why not, it opened late and had drinks promotions.

Got to the kremlin and I was the only one turned away, cos I was to drunk obviously. But not being able to grasp this I said to the bouncer "swear to god, I'm q***r" (I'm not btw) Needles to say it didn't work. Said to my mates go yous on ahead I'll drink at home and see yous there. Got in a taxi and started for home.

After a few minutes in the taxi though I decided I could try to talk the bouncers around. Told the taxi to drop me off and I'd walk back. Once he dropped me I realised I didn't have a clue where I was.

Walked a bit, but the more things I didn't recognise the more I started to panic. The biggest fear in my head was if I'm stopped by some fellas do I say I'm Protestant or catholic. I remember standing on the road for what seemed like an hour trying to flag down every car for what seems like an hour I remember I called 999 and was told this was for emergencies only. Eventually a taxi stopped and took me home. I was on the crumlin road in north Belfast, very close to shankill road and ardoyne. Very dodgy area.

Nest day was chatting a mate who knows belfatst, who mentioned the matter hospital is near there. To this day I can clearly see the big writing along the entrance on the road sign. I've never seen it sober, but could draw you a picture of what it looks like.
