Best 20 football forwards in Ireland

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

i noticed alot of people have put marty clarke in their top 20, benny coulter has established himself as one of the best forwards in the country for many a year now while clarke has only played a handful of games for the county, hes a quality player no doubt but think people are jumpin the gun just cause he had a spell in australia, he hits the penalties and the frees which would count for 80% of his scores, glad to have him but benny coulter is miles ahead

624529 Anyone who doesn`t have Donie Shine on their list hasn`t a clue about football.

I dont do "Lists",but I would not have Donie on a list of top 20 forwards in this country. He's too slow and anyone who knows anything about his career will tell you mid-field is by far and away his best position.

Mulligan wasn't man of the match in the 08 final, it was 05.

That's a fair point. I watched Antrim V Donegal in the championship last year and the best forward by a mile from both teams was T. McCann.

Mind you, CJ wasn't playing.

Donie Shine -- Couldnt even make te DCU tem dis year!!!!!! .good free taker tho.
Supprised Andy Moran from mayo hasent been mentioned......one of the form players in the league! Brian Dooher is one of my favourite players but he is passed it at this stage.

mattie forde is quality ..he may have been injured or out of form for the last two years or so but class is permanent.
I still P Joyce is as dangerous as they come in the full forward line as are the Bradley brothers .
This summer players like Ryan from Limerick and Kingston from Laois i think are the ones to look out for.
