madasbutter, the meaning of your post wasn't lost on everyone. fritzl isn't the sharpest tool in the box. There are many other things you could have added, including:

1. We would have to drive on the wrong side of the road
2. We would have to adopt British Summer Time
3. Our politicians would waste millions in "expenses"

No way, never. Sure we'd have to start supporting English soccer teams, watching their tv channells and news programmes, read the english papers, listen to english music, go their looking for work, adopt a very similar law system and a very similar political system. I could never see Irish people doing any of these things.

I find it laughable that people see the brits as perfect. Dont get me wrong i have nothing against england but we are talking about a people who believe one person is born better than the other.

It is you know. The United Kingdom takes in Northern Ireland.

GB does not. Or as Wikipedia says "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland[note 7] (commonly known as the United Kingdom, the UK "

For years I have proposed a dual monarchy between Westmeath the Kingdom of Toro in Uganda. Unfortunately it has always been dismissed by my contemporaries or has fallen of deaf ears. A real pity.

Sinn Fein and Arthur Griffiths started like that as well, a dual monarchy for GB and Ireland. We were to have two Kinmgs instead of one, based on the Hungarian model.
