I was at this game and to be fair, the scoreline doesnt really give a true reflection of the game. Kilkenny had a number of chances but were unable to take them. They werent helped by a woeful refereeing performance. It was a shame because they were doing alright until they conceded the 6 goals. I would have also felt that 23 or 24 of the points they conceded were preventable. Meath know they were fortunate and if they were to meet kilkenny again they wouldnt have it as easy

The thing I find hard to believe is that they are so so so bad? I can't figure it out, even in the most one sided games I have watched, the poorer teams seem to be able to put up some sort of score! Like surely in the entire county there must be at least a handful of good footballers!

Its very unusual for a team to not score at least a point no matter how big the score against them is.

But correct me if I'm mistaken but have Kilkenny not beaten Louth and Longford in the Leinster minor championship in the last few years? And these are footballing counties.

Shock, horror! Kilkenny are bad at football???!!!! Who knew?!

Listen Kilkenny don't care about football, the exact same way most counties don't care about hurling.

Its disgraceful that Kilkenny are allowed to ignore football in the way that they do, when you considet the counties that strive to pump funds inot both, how is it fair that they are allowed to concentrate on Hurling alone. For me Kilkenny are agreat hurling county but not a great GAA county.

is the gaa not about all kinds of gaa games..
maybe its thetime the cats started pushing football at underage level.
they need to look at their football structures,it aint good for any young lad to get this kind a hammering.
sure if every county just focused on 1 game we all be as good as the cats at hurling!

Not the case. If Leitrim were to withdraw their division 3b hurling team from action and stop hurling underage it would have absolutely no positive impact on our football team.

That result would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic. The number 1 sport in Ireland and Kilkenny can't even score a point. It just cements their position as the weakest GAA county in Ireland, a position they've held for God knows how many years

PomeroyPlunkett you're some man to talk about worst GAA teams, didn't your hurling team lose to London by 42 points last year. How can you say Kilkenny are the worst GAA county, I'd love it if Offaly won the last 4 all irelands. Are you saying people of Leitrim, Cavan, Fermamagh etc are all happy at what they have achieved in both sports. Dream on. Hurling and Football are two different sports, if Kilkenny people don't want to play it then leave them be, it's obvious they have no interest. Now go off and play cricket for yourself.
