789656 Fair comment TyroneGaa - i may have judged you harshly in the past. Will all games not now be off this weekend as omagh v carmen play? can't play some and leave others on the last day of season?
As for kildress v coalisland game think kildress were better than coalisland (who were poor) goals were sloppy as anything i've ever seen - when we get to a championship semi we can't afford one mistake nevermind 3 which cost us three majors. I doubt carmen or omagh will be too worried but all the best to na fianna in the final anyway.

I as a fianna man want to say hard luck to kildress, and yes they probably did shade this contest as you pointed out, and unforced errors did cost the wolfe tones bigtime, but i noticed that coalisland were'nt messing around at the back, if in doubt **** her out is our moto!! up the blues

Is a moto not some type of mobile phone thing or something. I thought the Fianna motto was "cac yourself when you get into a final", but there you go!!

I think the current league format needs changing rapidly, there's too many teams in Division 1 and therefore leading to a huge gap between the good teams and the poorer teams. It comes this stage of the season there's too many teams with nothing left to play for. I think we need to go back to the league format of a Division 1A and 1B of 12 teams each, playing each other twice (once with county player, once without) and all 24 playing the championship. This should help to make for more a competitive league.

This would also help to solve the serious lack of fixtures for club players in the summer months. Most club teams train from February right through to October at least, and will only play 12 competitive league fixtures (I'm not including the last 3 fixtures as for most clubs these aren't competitive games). The situation is the same for reseves as games are never played at the end of the season. Therefore most players will play 14 competitive games (factoring in a couple of championship games) in 9 months, thats approx 2 games a month, which isn't enough.

However can't see the county board changing the leagues as the format above will mean 6 extra teams in the senior championship, therefore affecting Tyrone's chances of an all-ireland club championship at intermediate or junior level (as 6 best teams from intermediate would be in Division 1B).

However here's hoping for something to be done to fix the farce that is the current league format.

With the county final now put back for a week as a result of the Omagh appeal to the DRA (which I beleive was justified, if not a little expensive) and this weekends replay is there any indication of when these league fixtures will actually be played? There is the replay at the weekend, the following weekend is the county final and would I be right in saying that the first round of the Ulster club against the Roslea Shamrocks is the following weeekend? There are also minor fixtures involving Omagh to factor into the equation as well so it could be well into November before the league is wrapped up for the season.

I think credit should be given to kildress today - played a good game against omagh considering the news that got to the dressing room just before throw in!! alot of teams tend to get thrown points but at least if the tones go down they can go down with dignity!!!!

Trillick got points of greencastle and carrickmore as greencastle had already a deal done with killyclogher for the 2 points on the final day of the season. Aghyaran got a point of dromore. kildress and galbally were the only 2 teams not to beg for points. and yes the word is beg. imagine ringing other clubs for points. them 4 teams should be ashamed of themselves. tyrone gaa is in a bad state of affairs when this is happenning.

Nothing new there. We had to let Kildress win a few years ago to let them get promoted. In an amateur sport it's always going to be the way

This is bull. Kildress where never talking to Omagh never mind begging. And if you take into consideration that Omagh sent a team to Aghyaran made up of entirely reserves some of who would not normally start for the reserves then you can see how aghyaran might have gained 2 more points a bit unfairly. I enjoyed the way that kildress and omagh played out a legitimate game - omagh were very up for it by reaction of their players, coaches and fans!!!

????? Absolutely puzzled by this? I don't think Kildress have had any trouble with Pomeroy in the modern era!!! How many times have we even played competitively?

not a mention of the fianna beating dromore at the weekend? strange that one if coialisland had been beat the doubters would be out in force considering the fianna only put out half a team it was still a good win for the blues a few Dromore men up to their old tricks after the final whistle as well.
