can anyone tell me what the story is in the relegation battle?

Do greencastle need to win the last game to avoid a play-off?

Bottom team ie Galbally go automatically down.
Second from bottom play third from bottom - loser goes down
Winner of this game play Pomeroy in the promotion/relegation playoffs - (now how is that for tongue in cheek!!)

Cheers mugs, I was looking for you on FB the last couple days, but you weren't about. so a win or a draw would leave it safe?

Greencastle will beat Killyclogher. KC are safe and havent trained in a month or so, plus Dermy Carlin & Marty Swift are injured. Both missed the kildress game.

I'm just playing devils advocate here but say the absolutely unthinkable happens and kildress beat coalisland tomoro and make it to the final - the last round of league games are scheduled before the county final does this not mean that by virture of the fact that kildress could still win the championship (just run with me here i don't want an onslaught of people saying 'catch yourself on kildress will never win the championship').

In this event does this not mean that teams on 12 point are then unsafe and need to win to be absolutely sure to keep out of the play offs for play offs so to speak??? i.e killyclogher will have to go out to beat greencastle?

It'll probably not matter as kildress apparently have absolutely no chance - well thats if you listen to the coalisland camp! ;-)

I think any club sitting on 12 points are pretty sure Kildress wont be winning any championship this year! I know there 1 of 4 teams left but you have to be living on Cloud Cukkoo if you think Kildress have any chance. Look at their league position, who have they really beat to reach this stage of the championship? They got a good draw and it is an excellent achievement to reach the semi finals of the championship but I cant see 2 many panicing just yet

Thanks TyroneGAA for once again confirming you are an ignoramous who has his judgement clouded by a petty vendetta against kildress which dates back years. Look at the above quote - i'm talking hypothetically as they're in a game tomorrow which even though the majority of people agree they will be well beat they still are competing and have a chance.

Anyone with an open mind wish to draw a conclusion on my HYPOTHETICAL situation?

I know, i read that thats why im not coming down hard on you disco lol. I have nothing against Kildress think they have done well this season, they were 1 of my relegation tips at the beginning of the year. Dont even think a Kildress man would of expected a championship semi final appearance. They are in bonus territory there real aim must be to secure there division 1 status. Im sure they are flying at the minute because of there championship perparation while other clubs are winding down for the season which should give them an excellent chance of staying in the division if it comes down to play offs

Dont really understand what your getting at! I think you mean that if Kildress win the cjampionship they cant be relegated?

yip if they win it they can't go down. i know its a long shot but it would be more interesting to see how teams would approach the last league games if kildress pull off a big shock tomoro - just saying is all! i know they won't win off course - everyone knows they won't!

Is that right? I didnt know that. That should defo make the Kildress boys more determined to get a result, not that you should need any more motivation in the semi-final of a championship.

Teams on 12 points can all now relax Disco, so Greencastle will beat Killyclogher this weekend!! I was impressed the fight Kildress put up against Coalisland, but if Kildress were gonna win they needed to score goals not conceed them. Think Kildress will be safe though

Fair comment TyroneGaa - i may have judged you harshly in the past. Will all games not now be off this weekend as omagh v carmen play? can't play some and leave others on the last day of season?
As for kildress v coalisland game think kildress were better than coalisland (who were poor) goals were sloppy as anything i've ever seen - when we get to a championship semi we can't afford one mistake nevermind 3 which cost us three majors. I doubt carmen or omagh will be too worried but all the best to na fianna in the final anyway.
