Well it hasn't exactly changed drastically over the last few years, has it? BigSam (Kildare) - Posts: 266 - 14/04/2010 13:31:40 617054 Link 0 |
Karl Ennis (MAYNOOTH) . Big Sam - you can sing that one again that the Kildare squad has not changed in the last few years. As I have stated on previous posts that is in my opinion the problem with the Kildare Senior team. square.lodger (Kildare) - Posts: 68 - 14/04/2010 19:24:08 617667 Link 0 |
Sorry Big Sam I must need glasses as you already had Karl Ennis in the squad. square.lodger (Kildare) - Posts: 68 - 14/04/2010 19:25:49 617670 Link 0 |
square lodger, I agree some players have not got game time and you would have to question the purpose of having them involved. But exactly what players would you drop and who would you bring in. Players being brought in must be an improvement on current players. watergirl (Kildare) - Posts: 147 - 15/04/2010 09:35:21 617905 Link 0 |
Watergirl. If you look at the post "harder to get on the Kildare team then off it " you will see some of the players mentioned that should be calling it a day. square.lodger (Kildare) - Posts: 68 - 15/04/2010 11:25:33 618021 Link 0 |
I know this is harsh but.. I'm sure there is some 'deadwood' in the squad and other options may lie available. BigSam (Kildare) - Posts: 266 - 16/04/2010 11:50:32 619228 Link 0 |
You are definitely correct that there are some guys there that realistically won't be get any game time however these things have to be balanced up and they may add other things to the squad such as; setting a high fitness standard in training, spirit, experience to help younger players. I'm sure every inter-county panel has 3 or 4 of these characters. watergirl (Kildare) - Posts: 147 - 16/04/2010 12:58:39 619368 Link 0 |

I heard a rumour going around that Mick Foley has left the panel,, anyone hear anything about that? bryanadams (Kildare) - Posts: 733 - 19/04/2010 13:21:58 621849 Link 0 |
Foley has left the panel alright, got fed up of not playing. i heard a rumour of a row between Earley and Mcgeeney over team selection. anyone know if this is true? butters1990 (Kildare) - Posts: 262 - 19/04/2010 15:14:06 622019 Link 0 |
Massive lose if he has. Never let us down whether selected in the full back line of half back line, If he has dropped off then our options are getting smaller with Declan Brennan unfortunately not an option either! Cover looking scarce in the full back line watergirl (Kildare) - Posts: 147 - 19/04/2010 16:06:11 622126 Link 0 |
Heard something about K.O'Neill giving up the ghost also. Anyone know if that's true ? Two big losses from a strength in depth perspective Crofter (Kildare) - Posts: 46 - 20/04/2010 11:32:53 623095 Link 0 |
I heard K. O'Neill got roasted by B. Noone from Kevins the other day. Maybe the reason he isn't playing over the last while is that he hasn't been/isn't up to the inter-county standard??? martymorrisseyfan (Kildare) - Posts: 49 - 20/04/2010 15:17:38 623495 Link 0 |
Sure sign the bottom has fallen out of the whole thing at senior level when you hear of rows so close to championship time. We're back as bad as Laois now. Hopefully the minors will give us something to cheer about thus year. Daith (Kildare) - Posts: 1172 - 20/04/2010 16:10:42 623583 Link 0 |
