Lads,

Anyone got the Kildare squad in full (including the club they play with)?

Cheers!

Well it hasn't exactly changed drastically over the last few years, has it?

I'm surprised laurences don't have a bigger contingent in the squad. (by the by I ain't a laurences man)

Thanks anyways lads

Karl Ennis (MAYNOOTH) . Big Sam - you can sing that one again that the Kildare squad has not changed in the last few years. As I have stated on previous posts that is in my opinion the problem with the Kildare Senior team.

Sorry Big Sam I must need glasses as you already had Karl Ennis in the squad.

square lodger, I agree some players have not got game time and you would have to question the purpose of having them involved. But exactly what players would you drop and who would you bring in. Players being brought in must be an improvement on current players.

Watergirl. If you look at the post "harder to get on the Kildare team then off it " you will see some of the players mentioned that should be calling it a day.

I know this is harsh but.. I'm sure there is some 'deadwood' in the squad and other options may lie available.

What I mean when I say deadwood is that they are prob players in the squad who are never going to get on the team and are playing to a mentality of a squad player..

I feel a young guy with nothing to lose and new to the squad would add a bit more than a seasoned squad player

You are definitely correct that there are some guys there that realistically won't be get any game time however these things have to be balanced up and they may add other things to the squad such as; setting a high fitness standard in training, spirit, experience to help younger players. I'm sure every inter-county panel has 3 or 4 of these characters.

I fear we have more than 3 or 4 though...

Massive lose if he has. Never let us down whether selected in the full back line of half back line, If he has dropped off then our options are getting smaller with Declan Brennan unfortunately not an option either! Cover looking scarce in the full back line

Heard something about K.O'Neill giving up the ghost also. Anyone know if that's true ? Two big losses from a strength in depth perspective

I heard K. O'Neill got roasted by B. Noone from Kevins the other day. Maybe the reason he isn't playing over the last while is that he hasn't been/isn't up to the inter-county standard???

Sure sign the bottom has fallen out of the whole thing at senior level when you hear of rows so close to championship time. We're back as bad as Laois now. Hopefully the minors will give us something to cheer about thus year.
