Would be interested to find out. I know there's already been a joke thread about this but id like to know what people really think. Do any of ye have mayo down as genuine contenders for the all ireland? Or do ye think they will just collapse again on the big day "like they always do"?

Im just wondering what the general view is. Personally, i think theyre in pretty good shape and will have a long enough run this summer. Dont honestly think there is an all ireland in them yet though. Just couldnt see them beating kerry cork or even tyrone when it really matters

Were you at mayo meath match last year look at it again ,, what was wrong with alan dillion goal ? 45 in frist half for meath??? line ball that led to pen ??/ and then the pen ??/ look at that again and the last 15 mins to when mayo were bad not the frist 55..... very lucky not that mayo were very bad , as martin mchugh said in the STAR meath would not have beaten mayo only for some laughable decision s by the ref , but we took it and its history now but would be nice to meet again this summer to put it right or wrong ??? and as 4 all ire its way to early cork kerry tyrone stil ahead of the rest .

I was just saying to a friend today that i would love to see Mayo win Sam...What they have done to keep Mayo close to the top table is remarkable..Many counties would have dissapeared of the radar after suffering so much.....Im sure your day will come very soon.....

what do ye mean, ye took it and its history? ye are still moaning about it now and ye are still moaning over 96, the fact of the matter is, it would not have taken a good team to beat us last year and ye could not do it. by the way mayo have a good history of doing well in the league ,but when it comes to summer its a different story.

Any other county with talent like Mayo has would have an all Ireland. But failure when it really matters is in every Mayo players genetics and it's not helped by the fickle, defeatest attitude of Mayo supporters. No matter what players they have or who manages them, Mayo will never win an all ireland.

every year i hope and while its unlikely to happen who knows? we do have the players. i dont believe these predictions of people saying that we dont have a team. if mayo are to win an all ireland we will do it coming from nowhere. who would have said in march 98 galway would have won sam - nobody, same goes for donegal 92, clare 95, wexford 96, tyrone 03 and armagh to a lesser degree. on any given day mayo van beat anyone and that includes in kerry. we have to win it sometime so i am going putting my neck on the line and say we have a strong chance.

poster from kildare that its in our genes (why we loose all irelands) and that mayo supporters have a defeast attitude. yet when a mayo supporter in here posts with confidence he is shot down and laughed at. watch this space....
