So who do you think he is? I would rate Marc O Se highly and probably the best man marker there is...McMenamin is also good, as is Anthony Lynch. bigman2 (Tipperary) - Posts: 1202 - 22/03/2010 19:21:22 595462 Link 0 |
Best man marker is Brady of Antrim, who marked Johnson(Cavan) Gooch and Murphy (Donegal) and Stephen O'Neill last year and conceded 2 points from play. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 22/03/2010 20:13:28 595548 Link 0 |

Johnny McCarthy of Limerick....in league or championship he's as consistent as they come. Should have been nominated for an all-star on two or three occasions at least but that's what you have to go without when you play for Limerick! the_apprentice (Limerick) - Posts: 27 - 23/03/2010 08:42:59 595823 Link 0 |
For us at present is it Geard O Kane, he is very consistent. He has been the Captain of 2 AI winning teams, please God let he make it 3! Fr.Ted.Crilly (Derry) - Posts: 449 - 23/03/2010 09:51:25 595850 Link 0 |
True apprentice. Michael McGuinness Leitrim, is as tight man marker as they come. Ask Mattie Forde, Michael Meehan, Benny Coulter etc. Karl Lacey and McMenamin most over rated defenders out there. johnnos bulls (None) - Posts: 527 - 23/03/2010 09:59:05 595859 Link 0 |
Lacey overrated??I think 2 all stars beg to differ,u obviously know very little about the art of defending..He kept 2 of the countrys leading marsmen to 1pt between them in last yr champ, paddy bradleey and mich meehan..The great dessie dolan once said he is the tighest tuffest man marker ever had to face and he has lined out against them all.. eunans4ever (Donegal) - Posts: 1694 - 23/03/2010 10:31:35 595884 Link 0 |
i agree, Lacey is arguably one of the best defenders ever. Agree however that Ryan Mc Menamin is vastly overrated Fr.Ted.Crilly (Derry) - Posts: 449 - 23/03/2010 10:35:56 595886 Link 0 |
For me one of the best defenders was sean marty lockheart. He's a hard as nails and a great footballer. He's finisher now i think but i just thought id throw that in :) dizzydub (Dublin) - Posts: 339 - 23/03/2010 10:44:59 595894 Link 0 |
