Can't remember him losing too many home games ?.......if you think re-placing him has helped your season then you are as deluded as the mayo fan that posted the ...do you think Mayo will win the AI thread

Hughes did well with Wales, then Blackburn and was doing a great job for city in difficult circumstances......everyone is entitled to their opinion but for what its worth, mine is that..... the decision makers at city made a bad one

Not many clubs for Sparky to move to mid season....who knows...maybe the hierarcy at city will realise their mistake...sack the Italian....and give Sparky his job back

Top 4 place for the blues this year Pat i think. But no trophy again which would you have prefered?

Manc, Manc, you already KNOW the answer.

In 2001 liverpool won the UEFA Cup, the FA cup, and the League Cup, a treble of cups, and were laughed at.

Now hopefully the above, reproduced three times from the original, is not too cryptic for United fans.

PS: Could someone please read it out loud for Dell.

And as has been said on numerous ocassions, can you even begin to imagine the shame and the slegging if City had won the League Cup for instance?

Does anyone even know who did win the League cup?

Can you imagine the slegging Chelsea will get if say they only won the domestic double?

Or for the really slow among you, CELTIC will win a trophy this year.

Yes, after Wales won the orld Cup for the third time............

as for his great job for City, 99% of posters on here, including you, were laughing at City for not being able to win a game.

Shame on you, but thanks for the Mayo inspiration.

Glad it helped Patrique....... maybe city will come good in a couple of seasons time...but there is a lot of work to do and I would be very surprised to see them win any of the next 3 premierships....until then the jammydodger will drop you nougats of inspiration..

Hughes got Wales winning games and relatively close to qualifying to a major championship for the first time in a long time ...... you can't turn a duck into a swan........

'You will discover that City have spent LESS than the other contenders, about one fifth of what say Spurs have spent. City have only been spending for one year, the others have been at it for a decade.'

Blatantly untrue, if you scroll down to the bottom you will see in the past 5 years City's net spend is miles ahead of every other teams. Why do you lie to prove your point?

Are you a communist? Into the 5 year dumas or what.

In my day a decade, which is what I said, was ten years.

And still Man City are the biggest spenders if you go to a decade. What was it you said, they had spent a fifth of what Spurs had? What was that based on, your imagination?

Spurs have even outspent United, despite all the 30 million lads they have.

Outspent Lazio as well.

When the City lose Pat is like he has swallowed a wasp for a week. Get over the Everton game Pat. Why haven't you given Everton the respect they deserve like i did. Well I'll do it for you, well done again Everton on a well deserved victory!!! If you didn't have the injuries early in the season you may have been close this year on current form.

I note City lost to Everton during the week (no one tells me anything)

Still, Everton, for thoise who have not noticed., have been the 5th best in the premiership for 5 years now.

It would appear City can only beat the BEST team, home and away.

Lies........ as usual.

lhttp://www.transferleague.co.uk/league-tables/1992-to-2011.html

Since the 1992 only Chelea have spent more than City.

City's total spend of £573million dwarfs the £399million spent by Spurs, and even dwarfs the $430m spent by Man Utd and the £496m splashed out by Liverpool.

Read this slowly, eventually you will understand.

I used to drink about 20-25 pints of beer every day.

I no longer drink.

I stopped drinking in 1990.

In 2011 I spent more on drink than I did in 1989.

Ask a friend to explain economics and inflation to you.

It will help you get through life.

Great site isn't it B&W, particularly useful for proving Pat wrong.. Of course inflation only affects City and if United wanted to buy success, say to win a Champions League in 2008 then they could do so at 90's prices.. He now seems to think that Fergie's mystical powers extend to economic wizardry too!

Also shows that Mark Hughes will be to thank if City get 4th seeing as the players be bought have now settled and are now the one's keeping City in the top 4. Their only goalscoring threat Tevez bought by Hughes, Patrique's choice for best Centre back in the League Kompany bought by Hughes and of course the linchpin to City's season; De Jong, bought by Hughes. How would they be doing without these 3 players? Mid table mediocrity would be my guess.

Preston bought the double in 1889 for about £5,000.

How come it cost Man United and Chelsea 850 million each?

Did Preston have a better manager?

you don't actually need to win anything nowadays, just finish in the top 4. In the last twelve years only two teams have managed to do that every year, arsenal and Man United making them the most successful sides in England in that period.

City might make the top 4. They might also win the FA cup or Europa Cup (i would love to win that) but then again we are closing in on a United Record off going 37 years without winning a trophy.

It would be great to beat that as well.
