Really annoys me when people [and tv commentators] refer to players by their nick-names - gooch this and star that. Puke. JimmyK (Dublin) - Posts: 240 - 21/03/2010 16:37:15 593962 Link 0 |

I'd have to go with the Gooch, he has everything, and even when things are going against him he can still pull something special out of the fire, like that point he got against Cork in Munster semi final last year. For my money he's a genius, and sees things no one else can. joeshow (Galway) - Posts: 22 - 21/03/2010 16:43:41 593972 Link 0 |

As a pure footballer, it has to be Gooch. Tongo (UK) - Posts: 1795 - 21/03/2010 17:20:34 594024 Link 0 |

Paddy Bradley!!!! He scores serious amounts even though he has no support around him and is marked by two defenders and a third sweeps in front of him. Both feet, pace to burn and severe strength. RandyDupree (USA) - Posts: 38 - 21/03/2010 17:38:02 594046 Link 0 |

Stevie McDonnell would be another good forward as well..Peter Canavan would be another one aswell Grattonboy (Monaghan) - Posts: 143 - 21/03/2010 17:40:25 594053 Link 0 |

I dont think its gooch, he can take a point, but other areas of play he is bad, paddy bradley is near the top, that young ginger fellow from antrim seems to be a good prospect as well teemore4sam (Fermanagh) - Posts: 101 - 21/03/2010 19:14:17 594177 Link 0 |

Teemore4sam: surely not! Gooch is a class act. Maybe not in the same sort of form as he was a couple of summers ago, but the man is gifted, no question. Not quite sure what other areas you are alluding to, but he is definitely one of the most gifted forwards of the last thirty years. Tongo (UK) - Posts: 1795 - 22/03/2010 08:07:23 594535 Link 0 |

Teemore, what parts of colm coopers game are "bad". I think your eye sight is bad. He is the best forward in the country by a long way. JohnMitchel (Dublin) - Posts: 178 - 22/03/2010 11:04:15 594677 Link 0 |

Totally impartial here, obviously.... I think Cooper just shades it over Stephen O'Neill, that man can still kick them on either foot from anywhere. KKid (Kilkenny) - Posts: 421 - 22/03/2010 11:19:57 594698 Link 0 |

So hard to pick the best forward. Gouch, stephen o Neill, Declan o Sullivan, Michael Meehan, Murphy, Clarke, Paddy Kelly.... and so on like. Their are loads of good forwards like. Silly trend really. rebeltrev (Cork) - Posts: 344 - 22/03/2010 13:18:32 594924 Link 0 |
