In terms of ability and natural football brain everyone is a distant second to Colm Cooper.
Cooper always takes the right option and when he passes its always the right pass at exactly the right time.

He did score a point against antrim in the championship last year so must be a contender.

And your view on the others? or do you consider Antrim football so bad that if you limit a player to a point that, that makes them bad also.

think again

My favourite forward on his day is Bernard Brogan. Left foot, right foot, bang over the bar. Class act. Most under-rated forward is Paddy Cunningham of Antrim.

I dont really think I am being unfair on Alan Brogan, can you tell me on one accasion when he steeped up to the mark played at the very top level (thats AI quarter of after) and really performed for Dub. Patrique your obsession with the McCourty and Ciaran Donaghy is a little unsettling. I would hav CJ in that second tier but really and truely he has to prove himself at the top level. What the criac this year with Antrim is he gonna throw another hissy fit? As for Donaghy well he is occasionaly effective but-----

But some people have Stephen O'Neill, last time he was a threat was in 2005. Not his fault, all the injuries, but why pick on the others and absolve hoim?

Donaghy is a marvel, second only to Gooch because Gooch can score more.

The McGourty thing is merely to point out that there is probably some forward in Leitrim/Kilkenny/Longford who is brilliant but we never hear about them because by and large the media decides who is good and who is not.

Sorry patrique but even you know gooch is on a different planet to anyone else!

Paddy Cunningham is extremely over rated and scores from frees mostly

Watching club football in antrim Paddy would not be in the top ten.

But if you need a free taker..............

Stephen O'Neill is injury prone and yes he would be up there if he managed to stay consistently free of injuries but he hasn't and therefore should be ranked as good. Forde, Freeman, Brogan (both) all desere a mention. Alan is an exceptional player: quick, low centre of gravity and is equally accurate off both feet. Not too many players around that you can say that about. Gooch of course should be up there and in my view is still the best around.
