I meant to explain the Séamus Moynihan decision!!!

The best displays of football at full back that I've ever seen was from Moynihan throughout the 2000 All-Ireland campaign. Kerry had big problems at full back and they gambled on Moynihan. The gamble was a masterstroke and Moynihan was imperious all year. Watch the replay against Armagh in the semi final. At times Kerry were overrun by that great Armagh team at times but Moynihan at times seemed to hold them out single handely.

I agree that maybe he was better at centre back but he's still the best full back that I've ever seen and I think that that's the measure of the man. Darren Fay and Francie Bellew come very close to him but I'd still go for the Glenflesk man.

MesAmis.....Séamus Moynihan was a class footballer and in the last 15 years despite not being a natural fulll back... he was the second best out there to play the position.... only to Fay. Bellow was a good full back but isn't comparible to either....imo i my life time Mick Lyons was the best full back I have seen followed by Fay then Moynihan

Mesamis-that's a fair point and well argued. I agree it's a personal thing and we each have our own favourites etc. Moynihan did a class job in there but to be honest he'd do a class job from 2-12 on the football field and who knows about the full forward line or goals!
I think Fay's attitude was unreal though and he deserves to be on the team too-pushing moynihan out and leaving no place for McGeeney, Glen Ryan or Conor Gormley.
Just a quick point lads-what do ye think is Gormley's best position? He's deployed as a man marker so often nowadays that we rarely get to see him in the no. 6 position(even though he wears it on his back). He has been scutched a few times when marking the dangermen but overall he does a good job. Sure i suppose what corner back has never been scutched... I'd rather him at centre back the whole time and leave the man to man stuff to ricey, or one of the mcmahons.
What ye think?

You obviously didn't see the 2001 semi when John McDermott made a wee boy of him, that ive seen J Mc & Tohill were better. Sean Cav has the makings of a better midfielder than Dara also
