583931 A bit late isn't it !
There are about a million immigrants\settlers in the North Eastern part of this island who have been there about 400 yrs. I take it any INP will be stayting clear of this lot?
Your comment is very sectarian in nature.
You are forgetting there was much movement of people from England to other parts of the Island.

Sorry, 'add message' was pressed by accident. I meant to say there was plantations (King's county etc..)all over Ireland and many Irish people are genetically from the same background as those 'immigrants' you mention.
Judging by my own surname, my descendants came from Scotland to Ulster before the reformation and assimilated into the culture of the residents,The same as many other Irish families, now only a few decades after that people from the same place as my ancestors move to Ireland, who happen to think a differing view of 'Jesus' and you consider the progeny of those people four centuries later to be 'Immigrants'?
Daft!

The irony of it is that his username suggests he is a supporter of a footclub that was established by settlers in a different country yet he has issue with any settlers or immigrants on this island.

So you are comparing the murdering, house burning and land reclamations of the Ulster plantation with that of a Irish ' famine ravaged' folk going to West Scotland to flee here? I would say to emmigrate but many didn't work, hence CFC was 'born' in the backdrop of Soup Kitchens!!
You have an interesting take on things

Quite a twisted response I didn't draw any such comparison.
You however are suggesting that over 1m people of overseas descent should be expelled from this country because of the actions of a few of their countrymen several centuries ago.
Anyway I am curious as this great purge you envisage does it extend to everyone of Scottish, Norman, Norse descent. What about those of celtic origin ? Who is allowed stay?. What about mixed marriages say 400 years ago.
Do you extend this concept to other counties. Should the tens of millions of people in the USA of Irish descent be repatriated to Ireland because they live on land that was forecably taken from the American Indians.

Thought we got over Facism in this country when O Duffy packed up and went off to fight for Franco. Although the INP are a bit disappointing really not half as twisted or bigoted as the BNP it seems.

Ruanua, Have you ever heard of assimilation?
I don't know of any Irish diaspra ( including those in USA) who have hammered the locals, created their own ' Irish state' abroad and insisted they are ruled from Dublin. Do you? This is because they have Assimilated wherever they may be
As for those here of Scottish, Norman, celtic, Norse descent, you'll find that 4milion of those ( out of 5 million) have Assimilated to the locality. We are called Irishmen and Irish women
The other 1 million people (immigrants\settlers) located in the North of this island have NOT Assimilated. They have been here 400 yrs and still won't say they are Irish. Indeed, as you say the actions of a few of their countrymen was several centuries ago.......so why are THEY still hanging on to it?

Id vote for them, people would really want to look around them. In Nazi Germany enemies of the state would be locked up without trail, what happens in the Uk, US and EU now???? label someone as a terror suspect and your civil rights go out the window. Only difference between facism and Democracy is who has the power, companies have this world ruined, i rather have 1 fool running the show than a 100 fools. You have leaders lying to people and using that fear to get what they want, e.g lisbon treaty. Democracy = companies have freedom to exploit/Greed.

Assimilation diaspra
Must admit Im struggling with those.
Would this be the correct use of those words ? going back to my example - The people that emmigrated to the USA (Irish Disapra included) assimilated to the culture and beliefs and laws of the native north americans ?

Leaving aside Native Americans let us look at the relationship between Irish and african Americans.
The "most Irish" city is Boston. All of big three sporting franchises in that city were owned by "Irish" people.
The last baseball team to have a black player? The Red sox.
The last basketball team to have a black player? The Celtics.
The last football team to have a black player? The patriots.
The above are just small examples of the Irish assimilating in the US of A.

There is something rattling around my head that legend has itI the Only surving horse at the Battle of the little bighorn was Commanche and was the horse of a Captain Clarke I believe who hailed from Co Down. That is the only Irish connection that springs to mind. However I would assume that there were plenty of Irish in the 7th calvary. And also I think that in reality there were quite a few horses survived
