Big game on wednesday night lads, v Derry U21's

Their paths have crossed before in 2007 ulster minor final, great tussle between these evenly matched sides. I remember a very dubious point (clearly a wide infact) settled the contest in Tyrones favour that day - yet it was Derry who would go on and compete in the All Ireland minor final that year, narrowly losing to Laois.

Some really exiting prospective players on both sides, Derry having the likes of Kielt, McWilliams, O'boyle & Seamus Bradley... I'm expecting it to be very tight. Kielt has really bulked up over the winter & will take some stopping at this age level. To be fair to Derry, Chrissy Mckaigue was a big player for them in 2007 & his departure to AFL has dampened their prospects a fair bit...

I think this one is too close to call - was just looking to hear some of your views about how this one might go?

I'm expecting a very close game on Wednesday night. Both sides are brimming with talent.James Kielt and Declan Mullan performed well against our seniors a few weeks ago and will be a handful for the Tyrone defence.Tyrone haven't done well at this level for a few years now and will be looking to make a big push this year.
I'm sure Derry will be looking to reverse the result of the minor final in 07 when the umpire gave Tyrone a point that was clearly wide,so they won't be lacking in motivation. But i think if Tyrone can match their hunger, then they will prevail but only just...

Has the potential to be a real cracker alright! Might even take a run up to it. Any word of a venue and time?

I would like to inform RedHandMacca that Derry were beaten by Galway in the final not Laois as you said.

Big game on wenesday night - A win in the U21 would lift the doom and gloom following our poor start to the NFL. Tir Eoghain abú!

keepherlow Conan Grugan is still a minor this year, although I would have know doubt in saying he would make a big impact on this team!

IS there any rule stopping him playing under-21?? i would say a fella of this calibre would be a great addition to any under-21 team in the country?

keepherlow, I'm not sure if there is a rule but I would say the cub already has alot of football on his plate at the minute with the CBS training for a macrory final, minor county and club commitments!
