Give me Whelan any day of the week, a man who actually wants to play for his country instead of that prima donna. Ireland has made his choice and good riddance to him pplocal (Tyrone) - Posts: 5878 - 03/03/2010 11:56:13 577804 Link 0 |

Why is there such a sudden change of opinion on glenn whelan? Not so long ago many were complaining that he wasn't fit to play international football and now all of a sudden hes being lauded as a midfield general ? Who in there rite mind would turn down Stephen Ireland if he was available to play for his country . . . A milion times more talented than whelan. Whelan is a good honest player but Ireland is a different type of player and a different class philbrown (Westmeath) - Posts: 239 - 03/03/2010 12:55:03 577875 Link 0 |

Its not really a valid argument as stephen ireland has absolutely no interest in playing 4 his country, i'd take anyone willing to give their best and who wants to be there wearing that jersey than someone who doesnt care to be honest. duke_raul (Tyrone) - Posts: 993 - 03/03/2010 14:02:37 577951 Link 0 |

Whelan wants to be there and fits into the system well, so him everytime. Ireland sees international duty as a chore so he can do one weered92 (Derry) - Posts: 296 - 03/03/2010 17:04:10 578202 Link 0 |
