The Mountains of Pomeroy is a beautiful song if I say so myself

You do know it is one of the great rebel songs of Ireland.

For myself it would be Three leafed shamrock Danny boy and The town I loved so well.

A song for Marcella is a brilliant song but I fail to see how it qualifies as a county ballad

Christy Moore-genius

In a live concert, especially at a small venue, Christy had charisma.

To call him a genius on the strength of taking this song "TheMan from the Daily mail" and changing a few words to call it the "Man from RTE" does not require a great talent.

Still, despite thinking a Belfast accent was from Scotland, Christy wasn't too bad for a Fianna Gael man.

The song is about an incident that happened on Hyde Road, west Gorton, Manchester, which is represented as a county by...Lancashire.
