577452 Do you actually believe the nonsense in your last post Master? Not all young players want to leave Spain for England, but some do. To suggest that every Spanish youngster would leave Spain is completely stupid.
The difference in employment law between the two countries is HUGE. In England footballers can sign a professional contract on their 16th birthday, in Spain they cannot sign a professional contract until they are 18 (not 17 as I incorrectly stated in a previous post). This is undoubtedly a massive advantage English clubs have over Spanish clubs, and surely played a part in Fabregas, Pique and Merida joining English clubs from their Spanish ones.
My God Nocky, introducing intelligence and reason into a debate with the Master.
What were you thiunking.
ALL professional soccer is DOMINATED by money.
Look at Hull's success last year? And Bolton, Blackburn, West Ham, Stoke, all bought at a great cost. As was Portsmouth's and they are now repaying.
Of course Pique looked brilliant against Chelsea and United last year, because he is a "footballing" centre half, a rarity in England. and of course Pique, fabregas and the rest end up in england at an early age as jobs are found for their entire families, and large brown envelopes full of money change hands, and a professional contract.

Nocky, are you telling me that the wealth of good players that came through the barca ranks werent 'looked after'? This being the same league where one of their top sides (real) are funded by the government! They have one of the highest outputs of youth players in football today. So how did they keep them? As patrique so eloquently put it, football is all about money (just like any profession). So if these lads werent getting any guarantees then could you please explain how they stayed at barca?
Now now patrique, dont be getting sore, my arguments hold far more logic than urs ever will

If you can't understand basic logic Master there is no point in me trying to explain anything to you. Just read my last post again, and read patrique's. If you still can't understand the situation then, I give up. You need special help.

Just a tad strong.
Master would rather take a Man United viewpoint rather than a logical one.
Best suited to having conversations with Dell.

What part of this post proves that barca or any other spanish side dont take actions to keep young player at the club? I never mentioned contracts so why do you keep bringing them up? Messi came all the way from Argentina when he was 14, for a club that cant offer anything they fairly had some pulling power dont you think? So please, less of the personal insults and could you just explain how exactly they managed this, or indeed to keep all their other homegrown players? I realise they would be young lads, but surely if messi will come all the way from argintina at 14, then xavi, iniesta or bojan could make the relatively short trip to england before they were 18? Do you really believe they didnt find means of keeping these lads?
patrique, i dont even support man utd, im a villa fan. However, i am not so consumed by jealousy that i cant see what a good side they are and have been, and the achievements of their manager

ronaldo has lost form of late. Also, he doesnt have great team players like wayne rooney and darren fletcher to act as his foil. In fairness to him it took a little while to settle in at utd too, and he has had a series of injuries, so i wouldnt write him off just yet.
pique couldnt cut it in england, he may be decent in spain, but the standard of defenders is much lower there. It also reflects on the 'great coaches' at barca when they let players go only to pay through the nose to sign them again in a couple of years. Another example is fabregas... ____________
Here is an earlier post of yours on this topic Master. I reproduced it in it's entirety so you can't accuse me of taking anything out of context. I would, however, like you to focus on your last two sentences, which I have highlighted in bold.
Please tell me how does it reflect badly on Barcelona's coaches when English clubs exploit the huge difference in employment law between Spain and England by offering young players professional contracts worth hundreds of thousands of pounds two years earlier than Barcelona or any other Spanish club can?

Where did i mention employment laws or contracts? I think you are not grasping what i am saying. Let me put this employment bit to bed. If english clubs were able to take the best young players without barca doing anything about it then wouldnt they have also signed messi iniesta xavi etc etc when they had the chance? Im not disputing that they cant offer them a contract as early as an english club but im not naive enough to think that spanish clubs wait twiddling their thumbs until these lads turn 18. As i already pointed out they brought messi over from argentina at 14. How do you think they kept hold of a talent like that?
What my post on pique and fabregas refers to is that these guys were not considered good enough to be 'taken care of' at the time. You could argue that they wanted to leave, but if this is the case then why did pique have no qualms about going back to them again?
