576156 He is one of those Celtic fans who stood outside croker with a "No foreign games at Croker" banner whilst wearing a Celtic Jersey.
That is the tyoe of Genius you are dealing with.
Hates everything English and remotely related to being English and still thinks he can contribute to threads involving teams that he hates with an insufferable passion.God love him,he will grow up one day and see the light. _____________ I thought he was a Leeds fan
You must be jokin.Celtic all the way for him.But he spends more time on the United threads. In fairness if you supported Celtic you would'nt want to talk about them either!

Yes, City were 2nd last year, and 1st the year before, isn't that right? They seem to be slipping. My God, we might not even make the top four for the first time in..............................
Is this in the championship? What totally abstract half-truth based point are you trying to make this time? Do urself a favour and lose the 'enlightened' bit, nobody buys it anyway
32, pique couldnt even get on ahead of john o'shea. The only place for him was back to spain, where nobody knows how to defend. They even managed to make a success of alberto luque and sinama-pongolle!

pique is quality and ferguson made a massive mistake in letting him go. go back to the o'shea thread. even everyone there laughed at the thought of o'shea making the barca team. why couldnt the "worlds best player" ronaldo score against theis terrible defender going by the name of pique?
and theres many more english players that failed miserably in spain, including your beloved michael owen

TOTAL AGREEMENT.
But........How do we explain Ronaldo's 13 goals (including about 6 penalties) in Spain? And 42 against super stars in England.

ronaldo has lost form of late. Also, he doesnt have great team players like wayne rooney and darren fletcher to act as his foil. In fairness to him it took a little while to settle in at utd too, and he has had a series of injuries, so i wouldnt write him off just yet.
pique couldnt cut it in england, he may be decent in spain, but the standard of defenders is much lower there. It also reflects on the 'great coaches' at barca when they let players go only to pay through the nose to sign them again in a couple of years. Another example is fabregas...

Michael Owen scored 13 goals in 35 apps for Madrid. Hardly a miserable failure.

Funny enough they seemed 2 defend alrite against united last year, and but 4 a michael essien screamer against chelsea aswell, the top 2 teams in england. Just because certain players dont suit the rough and tumble nature of the premier league doesnt mean they are bad players, the likes of pique and luque are more suited 2 a more skilful game where the referee protects the skill player unlike the premier league where there are countless hatchet man passing as footballers just ask arsene wenger, do u really think ryan showcross or martin taylor cud play at the top level in spain?

Taylor no, Shawcross yes.
Do you think Manolo Martínez or Rafael López Gómez could play at the highest level in England?

Oh so it was pique that made the difference aganist utd in the CL final raul_duke? What game were you watching? He played decently in the final but one game doesnt outweigh three years.
No, its not the rough and tumble of the premier league, its the rough and tumble of football. There is nothing illegal about not standing back and letting the opposition have time on the ball. If you need that time then maybe ur not that good of a footballer

More tripe from the so-called "Master". Barca lost Pique, Fabregas, and indeed Fran Merida, to English clubs because employment law in Spain means they can't sign professional contracts until they are 17.

Correct me if im wrong big guy, but u said that pique belonged back in spain where no1 knew how 2 defend, thats quite a statement considering this guy helped hold the 2 in a row champions league finalists scoreless they barley leathered the ball after the 1st 10- 15 minutes they were totally outclassed by a far superior footballing side. Just because he had 3 bad years at united doesnt make him a bad player as fergie failed 2 get the best out of many good players suh as diego forlan and just look at carlos tevez go since he got away he actually looks like a striker now.

I never wrote him of, in fact he is doing better than I thought, even without Fletcher Darrender or whatever.
Pique, Tevez, who next? The lack of money is telling.

Nocky, if you think that is the way it works then you are a fool. How did they keep xavi, iniesta, bojan etc? How could they keep hold of messi when they signed him at 14? Do you think nobody noticed those lads before they were 17? If that was the actual reality then barca wouldnt have a single young player.
Raul_Duke, but are u not placing more emphasis on one game than all the games over a three year period? How does that work?
Patrique, i wont even bother

Do you actually believe the nonsense in your last post Master? Not all young players want to leave Spain for England, but some do. To suggest that every Spanish youngster would leave Spain is completely stupid.
The difference in employment law between the two countries is HUGE. In England footballers can sign a professional contract on their 16th birthday, in Spain they cannot sign a professional contract until they are 18 (not 17 as I incorrectly stated in a previous post). This is undoubtedly a massive advantage English clubs have over Spanish clubs, and surely played a part in Fabregas, Pique and Merida joining English clubs from their Spanish ones.
