It will be Lollapalooza for me this August!
________

Saw PJ (amongst others) there a few summers ago, amazing place for a concert with the Chicago skyline in the background.

But Electric picnic are slowly but surly getting that crowd there should be an age limit. Crowrd of young D4 spanners (no disrespect to urself but you know what i'm on about) knicked a loud speaker and had to listen to them till 7 in the morning until someone managed to take it off them.

Trust me man... I've nothing in common with D4 heads... Not a big fan either. You're spot on....

Yeah an age limit is not a bad suggestion...

i sneak in to both oxygen and the picnic for the last three years.its actually sooo easy its ridiculous!! but id never pay into either of them, way over priced!!

but oxygen this year looks unreal!! was at the prodigy and oasis last year and prodigy were class!! il plan to go see muse, kasabian, prodigy, faithless, stereophonics, david guetta, vampire weekend, mumford and sons (just for that one song!),the coral(just for "dreaming of you")..but realistically im usually way too twisted drunk so il probably make it to about 2 of them!!

hopefully a few more top acts will be announced soon too like other years..

Maybe if yous off the drink a bit it would be a better experience? What's the point of going camping and getting drunk for a weekend costing yourself a few hundred euro when ya could do that for free anyways.

Only good thing I can say about that lineup is at least the Killers aren't there again.

It's Rock Am Ring for me this year - all the good acts from Oxegen plus Alice In Chains, RATM, Them Crooked Vultures, Motorhead...

saw RATM in rock am ring 2 years ago-amazing. German crowd were sound but try and get there a.s.a.p. to get a spot for your tent.peo;le arrive on the monday and land the best spaces

Jesus are the Coral still goin?Just about the worst band I have ever seen.Terrible stuff. That is a weak line up. I see the Oxegen houseband are not confirmed yet.Only a matter of time I suppose.

571983 I just had a good look at the line up and i have to say im really disappointed, none of the bands i went to see in 08 are there ie Kings of Leon (which are bit g*y now but were very good then), Seasick Steve, the Saw Doctors, Ian Brown, The Pogues, The Verve (who gave one of the best preformances ive ever seen).

ye i got around to seeing all those aswell. 08 for me was the best line-up followed by last year. the verve were amazing. everyone thought it was over but then they finished with love is noise which is a great song. ian brown was brilliant aswell. im not big into mgmt but they put on the best show in oxegen 08 for me along with flogging molly.

Oxegen is total rip off. 224 quid for 3days camping?? Is that a joke?? I'm going to the Sziget Festival in Budapest in August, 170 quid for 8days camping. Would go to Rock am Ring or Roskilde but they clash with the World Cup.

Benicassim i think still the best bout 180 euro 9/10 days camping and there's a beach 10 minute walk away. Fell like i'm doing marketing for them but it is brilliant.

You won't go to Oxegen and pay 250euro on ye'r ticket but yet ye'll pay for a flight to Budapest, spend money on your food and drink and accesories such as a tent etc. etc. and pay for a ticket that cost's 170euro......Is that a joke ??????

Very true, like most things here. In the last few years i've attented festivals similar to oxygen in Australia, USA and Denmark which is considered an expensive country. not alone are the prices way cheaper, the facilities are way better and the young crowd there can have a party without being total yobs. also the weather is better but thats Evelyn Cusack's fault.

Ahhh i knew someone would pick up on this. You will need food, drink and camping equipment at Oxegen aswell wont you?? So in theory I'm only paying for the flights which I just checked are 93 euro. Thats one way (I'm staying over there for a while) Comes down to a simple choice really, would ya rather hang out at a festival in Eastern europe or a festival in a field in Kildare. Hmmm tough choice.
